Insurance has told me that Clubmans are allowed, as long as they have mudguards. If they don't have mudguards, then we need to run them in their own group/session. So as long as they have mudguards and pass scrutineering, then they can run. -

Ok I have been getting asked a lot of Questions about what is needed for the Trackday, So I have pasted this from Nick (levinboy), who will be our scrutineer for the day. Hey guys I know a lot of you are not new to track days and will know what I'm talking about but for the newbies I will be outlining what will be expected when you come see myself and others in the scrutineering shed First things first empty your car of all loose objects, don't want to have things rolling around in the car This will include the drivers floor mat for worst case scenario of it catching on the pedals. While we are inside we will check your seat belts for condition, standard belts are fine no need to splash out for a harness but each to their own Fire extinguisher is next which will need to be securely mounted WITHIN REACH of the driver, which means if you cant reach it while seated it needs to be moved. Also make sure your fire extinguisher is within the green band on the gauge for obvious reasons There are guides floating around the forum of where and how to mount in skylines Next up is checking for any leaks present on your vehicle This is pretty self explanatory, make sure there is no oil, water, power steering etc leaks present otherwise no tracks for you At the same time we will be checking other components within the engine bay to make sure everything is in a roadworthy condition and doesn't present a hazard Battery will be checked next for security so it won't move under super late braking and super crazy g forces Factory restraint is fine for this That basically covers the car now we move onto YOU!! We check that you are wearing clothes that cover you from ankle to wrist so long pants long sleeve shirt closed shoes (sorry mateetee no hot pants and heels) At scrutineering we will be checking your helmet is Australian certified should have a silver and sticker AS1698 eg And make sure it is in good condition no cracks etc If you have any questions feel free to PM me and I'll try help you out See you all on the day in the scrutineering shed!!! -
I'm IN, Thanks Matt

Event: SAU NSW Texikhana Location: Nirimba Airfield / TAFE / Skidpan - same place as last time (yeah, it's got a few names) Location map: https://goo.gl/maps/h8GrX Date:26th October 2014 What is it: Motorkhana courses marked with orange things that we'd kindly appreciate if you drove around rather than over Entry cost SAUNSW members: $55 Entry fee Entry cost Non SAUNSW members: $75 Entry fee (If you plan to enter more than 1 or more events with us it pays to be a funded member) Entries strictly capped at Max. 30 cars. This guarantees loads of runs and minimal wait time but if you don't sign up, well you snooze you lose. Spectators:Free to watch Passengers:$10 which is cheap compared to other clubs and events, (SUPPORTS OUR CLUB!!!) , MUST sign on, MUST wear wrist to neck/ankle clothing with enclosed shoes and approved helmet, same as drivers. Courses:Released on the day at sign on First timers: Don't be shy, you'll love it. Those of you that have been to one of these before will agree, this is the best money you can spend as far as driving time for an event. The event will be run after run until 4.00pm, and considering most runs are under 1 minute AND that we're kicking off at 9am, that's a lot of runs This is a safe event where you only go as hard as you want to, there's no pressure, one car on a course at a time. Perfect for beginners to have a first try at driving their pride and joy off the streets. Motorkhana is a fabulous low cost way to get involved in motorsport. To get involved in Motorkhana you can get your first taste of motor sport in your standard road car, but this discipline also caters to the most skilled and experienced of drivers in highly modified or purpose built Motorkhana specials. The competition is designed to test the acceleration, braking and manoeuvrability of a vehicle and the skill and judgement of the crew members. A motorkhana may be conducted on a sealed or unsealed surface and involves manoeuvring through tight and twisty tests marked by flags. Cars will be started individually and there will be one car on course at one time. At no time during these events are burnouts, skids or drifting permitted to take place. With that said, there's usually some friendly competition between mates, which is great to watch Timing for the day: Scrutineering/sign on starts - 7.00am Scrutineering/sign on ends - 8.30am (don't show up at 8.25am, come with plenty of time to spare) Drivers brief - 8.40am (mandatory attendance all drivers) Runs start - 9.00am Lunch approx - 12.30pm depending on how the day is going (One hour) Runs stop - 4.00pm Gates close - 5.00pm Entrants please note: -All entrants under 18 years old must have parental permission. -All entered cars must arrive in time for and pass scrutineering, no exceptions. -All drivers must be licensed (AASA or CAMS) and show valid licence and expiry date at sign on. -All cars must have an insurance approved fire extinguisher secured within drivers reach. -Sidepipes are not allowed. Screamers/external gates venting to atmosphere are also not allowed to be entered. No exceptions (this is not my choice, I ♥ gate) -Entries are open now, entries close as stated in Supplementary Regulations (at bottom of this post) to allow time for officials to organise paperwork. -Supp regs and Entry Form are soon to be attached. Entry forms without payment will be rejected. -Yes you can join SAUNSW on the day (allow an extra 5mins at sign on) -There is no EFTPOS/Credit Card machine on site, so bring cash and we will have change there for you. If you can bring close to the right amount, that's helpful. -We are not allowed to drift the course, link up corners or keep your foot in it burnouts. But tyre slippage around such tight courses is to be expected. Regarding your motorsport licence: Due to changing policy at AASA we cannot process licence applications on the day. AASA or CAMS licences (or proof thereof) must be organised prior and brought to the event. AASA can provide a fax confirmation of your licence status if you require one at shorter notice (bare minimum 2 weeks). Also, CAMS licences can be renewed online if you have previously held an L2NS or L2S. How to Enter: To Enter you can pay at our Eventbrite page http://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/saunsw-26th-october-texikhana-tickets-12944694931?aff=es2 * On the day please bring your Motorsport license as we need to visually see it, We will have you fill out an entry form and waiver form on the day. So it's official: SAU-NSW IS GOING BACK TO SYDNEY MOTOR SPORT PARK! After the success of SAU:NSW's South Circuit track day last year and the resounding feedback from the entrants we have secured another booking! Okay, so here are the details: DATE: Monday 22nd September 2014 WHERE: Sydney Motor Sport Park - South Circuit SCHEDULE: 6:00: Gates open 7:00 - 7:20: Drivers sign on - all drivers report to the main desk next to the pit garage, bring your licences with you 7.20am - 8:15am Scrutineering, if you're late you need to wait until the day has started so the rest of the group isn't held up. 8:15 - 8:30/45 Drivers briefing in the main room, Next to scruitineering garages. 9:00 - Group format beings, this will be run in an alternating timed/ un-timed format. This format allows for passengers/driver training in the un-timed sessions. PRICE: SAU-NSW members $250 per driver, non-Members price $280 per driver yes that means double entered cars pay twice. AVAILABLE SPOTS: 40 Entrants max! this will be updated regularly throughout the thread PASSENGERS: $10 on the day after signing a waiver. Must be over 15 years and if under 18 years have parent or guardian permission. All Passengers must have full head to toe clothing and an approved helmet. This will be checked prior to payment once cleared you will be issued with a wristband and allowed out in un-timed sessions. LICENCE REQUIREMENTS: CAMS L2S or AASA club licence AASA here: CLICK ME! CAMS here: CLICK ME! PLEASE NOTE ALL AASA LICENCES MUST BE ACQUIRED PRIOR TO THE EVENT, APPLICATIONS CANNOT BE MADE ON THE DAY ANYMORE!! CHECK YOUR EXPIRY DATES PEOPLE! How the day runs: If you've never driven on a track before and want someone experienced to give you instruction and help with how to drive better, faster or safer, or even if you've done a couple of track days and just want to ask some questions (no matter how silly they may seem), we have this at no extra charge available throughout the day. Firstly, when you arrive at the track, find a place to park and empty all loose objects out of the car. Ensure there's nothing loose in the engine bay and that there are no leaks, that your brake lights work and you have all your wheel nuts on and have tightened your sump plug etc. Next step is to go to the office and sign on for the day, take your licence with you and you will be given a scruitineering sheet. Once you receive that, it's time to drive your car to the scruitineering shed, it's the only building right next to the parking. Your car will be checked to make sure it's safe to go on the track, and it will then be assigned a number which is your number for the day. Once you've done all that, it's now time to wait for the drivers' briefing to begin (which will be announced on the loud speakers throughout the pits, and starts at 8.15am sharp). Once the drivers' briefing is over, all the drivers are split into groups based on experience so that everyone is comfortable in their group. One group is then allowed on the track at a time for evenly-timed sessions. Once one group comes off, another goes on. This repeats until the end of the day with a short break around lunch so officials and helpers can get some food and drinks. Groups are small to ensure we have lots of space on the track. Groupings will be based on previous lap times and experience That's basically it! The only way to secure a spot is through sending in an entry form/email and payment through Eventbrite. PAYMENT: Please note that payment through Eventbrite will incur an extra service fee, which will be added to your total. Please note there will be no refunds unless the event is sold out and there are reserves waiting. EVENTBRITE: You can pay by credit card HERE Please note, members price is for SAUNSW financial members ie: you have that little blue banner under your avatar and you can access the members only section of the website. it DOES NOT mean just because you have an account on the SAU forums you are a member! ENTRY FORM: Electronic entry details sent to [email protected] 'Italics are for reference only' Full Legal Name: (as entered on bank deposit) Forum Alias: Car Make: Car Model: Experience: (New to Track Days) (1 or 2 non-timed events) (multiple events with timing) Times: (List track & official time, e.g. Wakefield 1:13 SMSP 1:08 etc) Any Questions Just ask See you at the Track SuppRegs.pdf
