  1. Man, I feel like I'm talking to a pissed off teenager. You're hardly in a position to say how much tuning is worth as you wouldn't have a clue by the sounds of it. How many tuners have you been to ? Did you read anything I've said ? I've been around the traps a fair bit a don't just PAY people to do everything for me. Read as much as you want - practice is better than just theory. These forums are a breeding ground for bullshit. I'm not made of money, but I have worked bloody hard and applied myself to my trade to get where I am. Maybe you should do the same...
  2. I said I'd help get a GOOD tuner here no worries as he already agreed when I was in Adelaide, so don't get snotty with me. Got nothing against this dr drift at all and he's probably a good tuner, just heard all this crap before about this guy coming here. I said I'd get Martin up, but I said you guys wouldn't be able to afford him didn't I ? And I was right. Sounds like you and your mates want the world for nothing. What you want $200 tunes now ? I don't know who I'm talking to here but your obviously in the know far more than me. You've owned an integra - says it all really - You must know what your talking about.
  3. Is this dr drift dude definitely coming on a certain date or not ? I don't wanna get Martin here if something else has definitely been organised. Also, how much are you prepared to pay ? I don't think he'd even bother unless your talking over $800 per tune which sounds like your not gonna pay, or else you wouldn't be insisting on tuning stock ecu's. Also we'd have to talk to Dallas as he'll want money on top of that for the time on the dyno. It's not gonna work out cheap to pay someone else to tune cars in front of Dallas on his own dyno. I'd prefer if some more hardcore modded cars as well to present for tuning rather than just pod filter and exhausts on Nissans. He'll be like "why doesn't your guy up there just do these ? Why do I need to come up for that ?" My point I've been trying to make all along though is GIVE DALLAS A GO, he's not stupid and would probably invest in Nistune if any of you guys gave him half a chance.
  4. That's cool, but heaps of people have agreed to come and never did. Is there an actual date ? If not it won't happen. In regards to engine destroying detonation, I'm talking about detonation after the car has been tuned down the track, not while it's being tuned. You won't know it's happening with the stock ecu as it will just retard your timing and screw around with your tune, making you lose power. An apexi will not do this, but will kill your engine if you have too much timing. The power fc is much more performance orientated than using a stock ecu - no matter how you tune it. Martin said 4 to 5 cars and he's here. I put money on it too that he has the ability to tune more cars than DD. This guy has software for bloody everything - from shitty fords/holdens right up to Lamborghini and Ferrari. He's a freak.
  5. Nistune will do the job for your application and that's all well and good wanting to stick with the factory ecu but my question still stands - what happens if you need to tweak/correct something ? Your stuffed cause you need nistune to get back into it, and still you'll have no idea when your car is knocking (which is the best part of a power fc) or any other vital engine info. Your kept in the dark with what your car is doing. You are in the middle of Australia and thinking you'll never need to access the ecu again is naive at best. That's so bullshit saying you should only go for an apexi power fc if you want d jetro though, there's much more to them than that. What experience have you had with performance cars to say that ? Also why all the hype about this dr. drift ? I've never heard of any of the cars they've worked on doing anything special, unless they're into drifting (which is a load of wank). Martin Donnon who tuned my R32 from Willall racing said he'd come up to tune cars if I could get 4 or 5 people together - and he's far more reputable than dr. drift and has the cars/results to back him up. Tuned the first 8 sec GTR in the country and is a pioneer on the new R35. Which leads me back to this - if your just going for a mild tune and don't need a guru tuner, just get an apexi and get Dallas to tune it is he's more than capable of doing a tune for your lightly modded car. I'll be very suprised if this dr. drift actually ever comes here. Who's cars is he going to tune to make this trip worth it ? I know Martin would be very bored if he came here.
  6. Denso 660cc injectors p/n - 195500-0610 Sard fuel regulator and lines for dual entry fuel rail Changed my mind on selling the power fc pro. I know I'll never get another one if I do.
  7. As far as I know Dr drift is a workshop, not one guy. You should just get a power fc instead of nistune if you want to keep modding car into future. Nistune isn't a "chip", it is reburning your original ecu eprom chip with a modified tune. If any minor adjustments need to be done you need the nistune software all over again to do anything, like if your car idles different or dentonates when it gets to summer. With a power fc any small changes can be made on the fly in real time and with the hand controller you have access to your engine vitals at all times, like actually knowing when your car is detonating, injector duty cycle ect. Also factory Nissan ecu has about 256 load points for fuel map, apexi has 400 so the resolution is better. Same for ignition map. I have heard good things about the nistune as it accesses the computer at a factory level but would only go there if your plans are very mild for the car, no big turbos or map sensor only tunes.
  8. Boost kit sold and gone. Others still for sale.
  9. Is this dude ever coming up ? Why don't you just get Dalby to tune it ? He'll manage it easily on a lightly modded sr20. Do you need Dr drift for the Nistune software on factory ecu or something ? If not it's not like it's rocket science on a power fc. That said most good tuners I've found tune for good power and that's it. They say lets get the numbers and forget about everything else like idle and light cruise stuff. Good tuners get really lazy because the can get away with it. Gotta remember to do everything you can't do it in a couple of hours no matter who the tuner is - it takes multiple tunes to get a factory like result in drivability and fuel economy because there are so many load/rpm points to adjust. On a power fc you've got 400 fuel points and 400 ignition points - try adjusting all those in two hours! This is why I've come to the conclusion you'll only ever get a totally tuned ecu after lots and lots of time, hence why I'm tuning my cars myself from now on. On another note the V spec is in the 11s after me tuning it.
  10. Yeah got it direct as my old man's workshop has an account (need an account to buy direct) with Adelaide clutch. The triple carbon was around $2800 trade. That includes full push conversion kit, which is all the genuine nissan stuff - Slave cylinder, gearbox front cover, fork ect. I think the retail is around $3200 - $3500. They are all push clutches though - they don't make pull ones (they don't mention this on the site). Push ones are better anyway though as they are easier to fit, and gives you much more clutch options for GTRs. Not worth going for a twin as the price difference is only a couple of hunderd bucks. I would've went one in the 32 but wasn't convinced on the carbons at that stage and needed a clutch I knew would launch hard repeatedly with over 500+ kw at the wheels. Wish I had've now as the OS giken R3C needs some learning - it's not really a street clutch and would be terrible for a daily driver.
  11. Its the same clutch mate. I bought it from xtreme, but is made by ATS. Has ATS on clutch and all instructions are the ATS carbonetics ones. That's what I'm saying, xtreme one IS the ATS one.
  12. Your right mate, you should have the latest synchro setup. You gotta ask yourself, is it really that bad you want to pull the box down ? Maybe your a harsh shifter ? has it been like this since day one with the OS ?
  13. Power FC boost control kit sold pending payment. Pictures of other gear will be up soon.
  14. That is for the last Nissan revision fork on 3rd/4th. Shouldn't need aftermarket ones though. If you do, Pfitzner sell billet forks to suit the late synchros. Pretty dear though.
  15. I can't remember the cost for just the fork - maybe $100, $150 ? I got my stuff for the OS boxes from Darron at Just Jap. To do the whole new synchro + fork setup in parts was around $900 for me. I supplied part # though. Ah here it is - I'm pretty sure it's 32811 - 05U10 for the Selector Fork.
  16. Try new 3rd/4th fork Mr keets ? Mine don't make noises at all as mentioned they do above. To repeat I have a brand new os box with uprated input on my 32. Done 5000km. Absolutely no vibration or noise in any gear what so ever at any rpm at all. Me and my old man built it. This has the series 3 synchros which needs a different selector fork for the 3rd-4th setup. The box in my R33 has an 'OLD' OS gearset which uses the older 32/33 synchros and uses the original selector fork for 3rd/4th. This box is the one that vibrates in 3rd. Maybe some people haven't got the RIGHT fork ? I'm going to put up with it though as I don't consider it bad enough to change on the 33. Is it really that bad MR keets ? I recall a list of parts you put down in another thread when you were building it. If you used all the parts on your list, the 3rd/4th selector fork was definitely on it. I remember comparing parts lists to mine.
  17. You do realise ATS/carbonetic clutches are what Xtreme carbons are ? I run a triple carbon with 1350kg clamp load and 6kg flwheel in my R33 GTR. I kid you not, you would think it is a single plate it's so progressive. Still hooks up awesome too. Get one, you won't be disappointed. Don't believe they won't work cold either. They have been tested to 1000Nm at 70 deg and 1400+Nm at 250 deg. 1500hp rated and driveable ! Absolutely astonishing how a clutch can be so friendly to use but absolutely won't slip too. Got an OS giken R3C in my R32 GTR so I know what a viscious clutch is like. I'm serious - the extreme cermaic single plate was harder to drive than the triple. Every GTR should have a ATS/carbonetics/xtreme triple. Circuit/drag/street - Just amazing !
  18. In case anyone else is wondering the string in the FC PRO is RB26PRO1. Don't be fooled, it is a genuine PRO.
  19. Ok got some stuff to sell again guys. PM or ring me on 0401 779 905 and ask for BEN. Will get some pics up soon but we all know what this stuff looks like right ?
  20. Oh yeah !!!! I'll be out there now in the V spec defintely. Lets just say it's time to show what the white car is really all about. Should be very interesting MR. MFP !
  21. OK problem fixed. Thanks everyone for not even giving me some decent or any responses. I tried different power fc, full new apexi boost control setup, checking CAS, checking hks actuators - nothing same problem. Car would only increase psi to 18 - 19 odd over actuators 16. The car felt actually slower than when it was bog stock. Then it dawned on me - what would cause the car to feel shit over entire rev range and build boost really slowly, and only allow a small increase in boost pressure up top ? BACK PRESSURE IN THE EXHAUST. I thought ok maybe the cat is a bit stuffed and I'll get a dyno run just to confirm what power I actually have now (used to make 330kw tuned 5 years ago). Turned out to be in the 250rwkW region !!! With HKS GT-SS turbos I was absolutely shocked ! Removed the cat and what do you know - the car made 360 kW ! That's a massive loss in anyones language, all caused by one cat that really didn't look that bad. Well that's done it for me, no more cats ever, EVER again. The cat in question was a 100mm magic cat. Well they can shove them you know where as the car didn't even travel 10k. Is there any such thing as a good catalytic converter ? If there is I'd like to hear what brand or type as these were supposed to be the goods. Finally I might get my 11 after all ! Cheers everyone.
  22. What do you mean ? Dudes are coming from the US and you think it's gonna be like an off street meet ? Bracket racing in super street is about as expensive as that normally if you don't have a s/st ANDRA license, and even more expensive in super sedan ($125 + license). And it's $80 if you nominate now, $100 on day. It will be extra to have a one day license too. I'm wondering how strict the scruteneering will be. If they are relaxed about it that will really piss me off as the only reason I'm not racing is because of ANDRA rules. Both cars are ready to rock mechanically but R32 still needs battery isolator, fit new 5 point seat/rail, 5 point harness, side intrusion bar on cage, tailshaft loop, new race gear, $9 a litre unleaded, upgrade to group 3 unlimited ANDRA license, parachute yada yada yada. It just goes on and on. I just need to get the R32 back out there to see where I'm at. You guys have no idea the money that's been poured into my GTRs. (could've had an R35 already put it that way) Good news for this event is tail shaft loop is only required in the 10 sec zone (ANDRA says 11) but harnesses will be enforced in the 11 sec zone OR 110 mph. I've tried telling everyone - don't say you were not warned.
  23. Ok I tried my power fc pro and the same thing happens as the normal one, No real control over my boost levels. Now that's telling me that the L jetro Power fc I was unsing has nothing wrong with it. I've taken the rubber mount under the apexi solenoid out so I can hear it pulsing from inside the car. Very strange things happening here. With the boost control setting turned off the solenoid cycling noise can be heard as soon as you accelerate, but with it on - nothing. This is very wierd. Ok time to buy a complete new apexi boost control kit. Sounds like my solenoid or MAP sensor is stuffed (even though the boost reads on the hand controller. ?!) Somebody give me a hand !
  24. The exedy clutch is a push type solid centre triple. No such thing as a sprung gtr triple cause there ain't enough room. I'll include the 18mm bearing carrier with a bearing to suit. No alignment tool though as I have a spare input shaft and use that to align my clutches. Extreme in Adelaide (1800 clutch) sell them though and they are very cheap. -Clutch is $700 ono -Genuine Apexi R32/R33 GTR Power FC PRO still for sale $1600 ono with hand controller -Denso 660cc gtr injectors for sale $800 ono. Will include stock gtr rail and fuel reg for extra $50 All prices are delivered anywhere in Australia.
