  1. Thanks for your input fellas, just stopped using the remote start for now. Next time I use it will check it out the boot
  2. Was with Just Car R33 95 GTR $1770 a year Excess: 625 +600 + 400 Quote from RACV $1000 a year, Excess: $2000 + $400 Better Agreed Value Choice of repairer Now with RACV for 23 year old male
  3. By coast, not for long periods of time, maybe for like 5-10 meters. Got a diagnostics cable and running a power fc + hc. How do I check for errors/enter diagnostics mode
  4. Recently my 4wd light has been coming on, either when I remote start my car, or if I coast the car in neutral for a bit shortly after starting. Turning the car off and on fixes the light coming on, any ideas why these things trigger the light the come on? Always restarting my car as I have read having that light on can cause damage
  5. It's a hell of alot smoother then what it was before, still getting used to it though.
  6. Can finally post in here... 1995 R33 GTR Garret -7's Tomei Adjustable Cam Gears 17psi - Racepace mod to actuators Reco Head Hiflo Cat Ganador Exhaust HKS Pods Splitfire Coilpacks Apexi Power FC Stock Bottom end Stock everything everything else; Injectors, Dumps, Front pipes, AFM's, Cams 295.8 rwkw
  7. Had a bit of spare time up my sleeve tonight, and my gear stick surround had been flaking off since I bought the car. Bought some of that carbon fibre wrap stuff, end result is below. Pictures make it look pretty average, but in the flesh I am pretty happy with it. Regardless, it was better then the original state of it.
  8. Havn't updated my build thread in a while, so here goes with the latest updates. The head gasket was indeed blown on the car, Cylinder number 5 had coolant in it (could see it through the spark plug hole) After seeing this, we got to work. Dismantling the beast. After many nights in the shed after work, lots of frustrating smoko's, The head was finally off with minimal casualties!!! The head was sent off to Racepace for a reco, while that was happening i got my gaskets organised. Picked them up fairly cheap. Soon enough the head was back, all ready to go and we set back to work....Before you know it this is what we had in front of us As each night went on, we got closer to getting it running again..Put in some Tomei Adjustable Cam Gears ^^^Anybody who has taken the plenum off....probably the worst part of the whole thing^^^ Before you know it, She was ready again!! Fill her up with oil, then dropped it after I had it running for a little. Put in some Gulf Western Synx6000, the oil came out like this.... At this point, we were extremley dissapointed, thinking something had gone wrong. But i had high hopes that it was just "cleaning" the engine out due to the bad head gasket. Threw in some shitty cheap shit oil we had laying around the shed and it came out like...... Just to be 100%, I bought a few bottles of shell helix hx7 10w-40 and changed it a few times. Results were consistent, we were in business! On the trailer and off to racepace for a tune, and here is the result Couldn't thank my dad enough for helping me through the whole thing. Here is how its looking at the moment, also ended up purchasing a bike too!
  9. I like to think i can solder well, did a few console mods back in the day. Just found the brain of the alarm, looks like a pretty shonky install, nothing is neat. I am sure its a challange in itself to keep it neat, but I recken i could have done a better job :\ Little bits of electrical take here and their. Checked the main fuses, none are blown. Was trying to get it resync'd but hard to tell if i am in the right mode due to the siren disconnected, my valet switch was flashing which is a good sign meaning my alarm has power. But just unsure how to pair it, the instruction's are not making much sense to a simpleton like myself. Antenna wire looks all good, all wiring looked ok as in not damaged. Setup shop on melbourne will u troy far out ha ha, I am not typically keen letting the blokes at autobarn touch my baby..
  10. The siren is stuffed, the key to turn the siren on and off just spins freely all the way around! If I can just connect a new siren to my alarm system that would be the best bet. I opened it up at one stage and there some burn marks on the PCB. So something had shorted/fried. I'd say water damage. The alarm was installed 3 years ago from august. When I did my stereo install, funny enough I didn't find the brain, I am hoping its a good quality install but who knows... Remotes are still not working Just spoke to the chap at auto barn, said the most probable cause would be a blown fuse, reckens vipers rarely loose their sync. Here's hoping I can find where the fuses are and check them
  11. Random question - My car siren/speaker kept going off randomly. Sometimes it would be sweet for day's, othertimes it would just keep going off. So i ended up disconnecting it. Now, is it the fault of the alarm or the siren itself (why did it keep going off?) if its just the siren, can i just replace it and job done? Or do i need a whole new alarm
  12. Cheers carbon, pm sent
  13. Went to my local autobarn. No go at this stage, waiting for a call back tomorrow. If you find it at the shop chris let me know
  14. Beautiful! I'll try my luck at some dealers in my area, hopefully they can help me out!
  15. Been doing some reading - While i had been working on my car, my car battery would have gone flat. I would imagine it lost the sync to my remotes. any idea how to reprogram a viper 5901?
  16. Recently did some work to my GTR, and now my alarm system is no longer working I am unsure of specifics as it was already on the car when i bought it, but i know it is a viper system. None of the features work, It seems the alarm is not physically on. Just had my car dyno tuned with a apexi power fc, would installing the power fc had some effect on the alarm or could the power just have gone? Any advice on where to start trouble shooting will be great, Also note - the alarm has a switch to enable and disable remote start, flicked it in either position and it has no effect. Receiver just beeps at me as if its trying to send the signal but it never gets received. I take it if i follow the cable from the speaker/siren or the remote start switch toggle it should lead me to the alarm system itself?
  17. Maybe the E85 has something to do with it?
  18. I thought having oil staying clean meant it wasn't cleaning the carbon/shit out of your engine?
  19. Don't have the car at the moment so can't do any check's. Tuner is reputable and knows his stuff, and did warn me when i got the reco head back but was a "wait and see" sorta thing. Pretty much need to know will going poncam's give me more bottom end or top?
  20. Nissan timing belt. Yep drive is defs warn, I trust my tuner Just trying to decide if its worth going pon cam's or trying to find a used camshaft, that and some front pipes..
  21. The cas is throwing the ignition timing around due to it moving, but i believe the splines on the cas itself are fine. The cam shaft drive is worn. Also mods to the car; Garrett -7's Apexi PowerFC Tomei Adjustable cam gears Reco Head Ganador catback exhaust hiflow cat pods everything else is stock After doing the head gasket and putting it all backtogether, it is at the tuners and the above was the diagnosis. Car was pulling 250-280rwkw on 15psi boost I was told, but not stable due to the cas messing with the ignition timing. Just don't want it to be super revvy when its my daily/street car.
  22. My R33 GTR's stock exhaust cam shaft is giving me 10 degree varients in ignition timing. Mr nissan wants almost $700 odd for a exhaust cam shaft, Tomei Poncam's can be had for a little more and then at least i know both are new. I have heard different things re power shifting to more of a top end car, It will be daily/street driven car. Tomei make two different sets of cam's, Type A and B. I assume type A are similar to stock? Is it worth sticking OEM or going after market? Also while im posting, I need some front pipes. Any recommendation's on which ones and where to get them ?
  23. Listen for startup noise, what weight is it the delo 400? Also i thought they changed the formula for delo 400 recently making it not great for bikes with wet clutch's (Which is most of them)
  24. You can try it and report back, its a bit thick for my liking, if your cars standard it might be OK. I know where your coming from re delo 400, people r using it I'm their bikes on netrider.net.au
  25. Going in for a tune tomorrow, I've got -7s on it. Still hearing some hissing, horrible noise is gone so was the timing belt. Oil is staying clean. Just gotta find this vacuum leak. Any pointers or common leak areas?
