Not brutal at all. The bar is a gem I remember seeing Suleymanoglu smoking in the warm up room, really surprised me
-
Simon, Armando was a great snatcher, he was known for it Nick, I was at the same comp in Melbourne Nick, we actually use Max for weightlifting lessons, you'll know why afterwards The comment on bar spinning. When we got our Zhang Kong, everyones powerclean numbers went up, it makes a big difference having needle bearings over bush bearings in the sleeve
-
Armando is our best weightlifter He just won Bronze at the World Masters in the Ukraine He snatched 114kg and jerked 142kg He had a crack with 149kg for the Gold, he cleaned it but lost it forward on the jerk He is 50 years old and lifts in the 94kg class, he also squats 200kg His best lifts when he was younger were 165kg snatch and 185kg jerk, 250kg squat
-
He'd already paid for flights to Argentina lol Ange benched 262.5kg equipped in the 82.5kg class
-
This is Wayne Howlett squatting 300kg pretty easily in 2011
-
This is Ange benching 190kg at a Fundraiser at PTC over 2 years ago
-
Another 600kg+ total added to the 80kg class Ange Galati went 200/200/220 - 620kg with a 4th attempt, 615kg@78kg officially at GPA Worlds in Argentina Australias greatest ever bench presser. He tore his pec a week before he left and had to bench with a very close grip, still managed 200kg@78kg I laugh when most say he's a shit squatter and deadlifter. Not really, a 200kg squat at 78kg is bloody impressive, its just his bench press is from another planet
-
Thats the perfect description of Wayne Howlett
-
He actually did the bench only part of the comp 2 days earlier and benched 237.5kg for a Gold Medal He said he felt fatigued on the day, possibly shouldnt have done it I think Wayne has a 240kg bench in him
-
Wayne Howlett set the biggest raw total in Australian Powerlifting History overnight in Argentina at the GPA Worlds He went 375kg squat - 230kg bench - 330kg deadlift - 935kg total@130kg bodyweight He actually stood up with a 400kg squat, but got red lighted for depth. Thats the first time in his career he has been red lighted for depth

I believe some blame lays with the client I quite often get overweight girls come in telling me thay dont want to lift heavy weights as they dont want to get bulky. I stare at them for a minute, taking in their 75kg form, then ask them if they ever lifted heavy weights. My 3 strongest clients are Sussy, Vicki and Nina, they weigh 54kg, 58kg and 57kg Clients walk in ignorant, and with pre conceived ideas, they'll never improve. Sussy was 70kg when she started, at 5'1", she is now 54kg, not done one circuit, no jogging, no running, just heavy weights and good nutrition. She would out squat most of the male members on here. The thing is the average girl, or guy, doesnt want to train as hard as Sussy, or give up as much. Very often we blame the PT, I know I do, but sometimes the blame should go on the client. The average client also uses sweat as a gauge as to how hard they worked, thats right, the bodies cooling system lol Back in my hole now
-
My gym is packed with women and I know all their names (and phone numbers) I'm surprised the guy didnt learn more in those 8 weeks doing his course lol

That is the GPC Top 10 by Glossbrenner without age correction. Anything over 400 is obviously excellent. Max, Jackson, Firas and Martin are still juniors, so thats an excellent effort Odell Manuel registered over 500 Glossbrenner points at ProRawFour, freak 1 Ricky Goddyear - 479.51 2 Scott Wasson - 443.57 3 Dave Parmitter - 431.75 4 Firas El Achkar - 431.64 5 Emad Nayef - 418.13 6 Ben Bouchereau - 413.53 7 Martin Nguyen - 411.95 8 Nathan Wallace - 409.44 9 Max Markopoulos - 407.12 10 Jackson Murrie - 406.43

Glossbrenner is a formula calculator You punch in your bodyweight, weight lifted and it spits out a score. It also allows for age correction for over 40's and gender Here is a link on my site, its easy to work with http://www.ptcfrankston.com/glossbrennercalculator.html
