  1. Dan and Paul are fantastic guys, they will look after you, they have some awesome equipment. I was there for the opening, Perth is an amazing place
  2. Well done to the winner, great job. Have you ever competed big fella, I know you used to train at MusclePit. WA states coming up soon
  3. lol at Simon Husky being a professional lifter. Simon has never been a member of a Fed nor has he ever competed in an official comp, just garage comps, last one was 4-5 years ago
  4. Some huge deadlifting last night Zoran pulled 285kg and Martin pulled 290kg
  5. lol
  6. I think if Nick did it BEFORE deadlifting 220kg lol he MAY have had another couple in him Nick did his session first and then did the challenge Its why I find it funny when guys want to rest for a few days before trying, Nick rested a few minutes lol
  7. Nickr33
  8. Nick got 19 with 130kg today, I'll post vid up tonight He deadlifted 200kg x 3, then 210kg x 1 and 220kg x 1 beforehand His hips gave out on the 20th rep, couldnt lock it out
  9. This is a vid we did for our challenge on ProRaw, Nina doing 2 x bw for 10 reps (120kg x 10)
  10. Australia Day 2007 I held my first comp, and I've had one every Australia Day since, except this one. On that first one we had 8 competitors, here is what they squatted Neil 90kg Ghosty 105kg Cory 105kg Jovi 120kg Adam 130kg Simon 140kg Herc 140kg Benny 145kg All lifts were PB's at the time, some by a long way.Move forward to 2013, heres who was in the gym squatting and what their squat PB is. Rowdy 210kg Zoran 225kg Martin 227.5kg Emad 232.5kg Spiros 235kg Daniel 240kg Max 250kg Jack 300kg
  11. I started a DL challenge over on my forum, 2.5 x bw for men and double bodyweight for women Nina went first and managed 120kg x 10@58kg I'll get a few of the guys to do some next week, mind you, Zoran, Spiros, Rocky, Mick and Max cant get close, only Martin would beat her 10 at 2.5 x bw (men)
  12. Something that Tolga and a few of you should consider. It is a distinct advantage for lighter guys on these challenges, thats why no strength sport uses bodyweight, they use a coefficient A simpler way for a forum/gym comp is bw + 10kg or 20kg etc The added 10kg or 20kg handicaps the lighter guy more than the heavier guy on a % basis Kaz 120kg + 20kg benches 140kg for reps Minime 65kg + 20kg benches 85kg for reps Kaz gets a 16% loading Minime gets 30% loading We used this for my Ironedge Rep Challenge where we had $4000 prizemoney and it worked well Just a thought for Tolga
  13. Interestingly I asked this guy what his squat PB was at the time......it was 190kg. He was simply performing the same movement with the bar in a different place I'm not saying its the right way, its just the way I coach the lift, plenty do it different
  14. I upped a guys PB by 20kg in 5 minutes by raising his hips up He'd been deadlifting 190kg for nearly a year, 5 minutes later it was 210kg He was trying to squat the weight up Check out Martins vid, he pulls 281kg@79kg Deadlifts are a back exercise
  15. Well Big Nick is a member on here, weighs 105kg, I reckon he could rep over 30 reps with 157.5kg Nina did 100kg x 20 at 59kg, so 30 reps with 90kg would be a soda for her, better at reps Guys like Scott are very strong and good at reps, he would match Martin The thing is most do high rep squats, not deads Nick squatted 162.5kg x 20@105kg Scott did 155kg x 20@92kg Ricky did 195kg x 20@108kg Nina squatted 60kg x 60@60 Pierre squatted 60kg x 137@80kg Martin and Scott pull well over 220kg x 10, Martin did 227.5kg Remember these guys train with very low reps most of the time, so the fact they can rep high as well is impressive I think you guys will definitely do well on bench bw though
  16. 25 - 30 win the bench?
  17. Joey youre effort was epic, 19 reps is REALLY good for a guy that doesnt compete etc I'm impressed with all you guys that hit double figures Cant wait for bench Tolga................................
  18. Mate 15 is bloody good going
  19. Oh, and in case some on here dont know I'm President of a PL Fed I own another Fed I own a PL gym with over 30 competing lifters I started a PL gym franchise that has gyms in 4 states I've been to PL comps on 3 continents My lifters have 94 World Records I first started judging PL comps in 1991 I know what a deadlift is lol Some pretty good efforts from you non competing guys to, its great to see guys deadlifting in commercial gyms I think the next challenge should be bench bw for reps, EVERYONE benches, some on here would give competition guys a run for their money I dont think my guys excel at bench bw anymore than regular gym goers
  20. This isnt a PL forum Simon so I couldnt be bothered explaining or defending, its a vid for inspiration only
  21. Also, amongst you guys, one judge only, no other comments, Tolga is a pretty fair guy
  22. Joe, when Tolga said lowering the weight controlled, seeing Tolga is a PL, pretty sure he meant PL rules, which Martin did 100% correctly If I interpreted Tolga incorrectly, I apologize
  23. Martins vid is NOT INCLUDED in this comp, he's not a member anyway. Martin trains 7 x week, he doesnt get doms. This was after his session had finished, so he did nothing else anyway. When I say he doesnt like reps, he still benched 50kg DB's x 10 before this etc and he has done 2.8 x bw deads for 10 reps (227.5kg@80kg), its just for his purpose 5's and less are best. He front squats 145kg x 3 and strict MP 90kg as well, its not just the big 3 he does I'm going to do a deadlift challenge on my ProRaw forum Men - 2.5 x bw max reps Women - 2 x bw max reps Keeps those vids coming
  24. There is definitely a market in Canberra for a PTC. Its up to someone to put their hand up and open one Loads of PL in the ACT, but no dedicated PL only gym
