  1. Yeah CES is not cheap. I live in Brizzie and liked the idea of taking the car to him and fitting the system, I have no access to a hoist for a long period and really couldn't be farked fitting the dumps, front pipe, 3 1/2 system to a GTR lying on the ground, CES is a exhaust shop and if somthing is wrong you take it straight back to him! Its his name on the WHOLE system!! = GREAT WORK!! p.s. single 3 1/2 cannon muffler (no resinator) and i have a slip of paper in glove box, if cops pull me for excessive noise i can say it is 100% legal with his (ces) testing epuipment. at 5100rpm!
  2. $820 for pair coated dumps and $500 (approx) for the front pipe
  3. My 32 was a direct import from Japan. cost me 26g and was rated at a 4.5 on the scale! Blew a bigend after a full service and WAS NOT driven hard while here. The engine builder told me that the reason the engine let go was SLUDGE in the bottom of the sump. caused by lack of service in JAPAN, he also went on to say that the number of 33's and high priced 34's with the same problem was growing to about 3 enquiries a week!! It dosent mean SH!T how much you pay for your car if it hasnt been looked after in JAPAN (service wise) you dont know Oh yes i had a RACQ inspection performed and it was imported through a well known and respected importer!!
  4. if you can afford it go the aftermarket rods i was after the same sort of figure 350rwkw and was told the originals shotpeened would handle that no probs so i went with that.... But in the future when 350 isnt enough...(always looking 4 more) the "upgraded" rods will handle it!! my 2 cents.
  5. CES dump pipes good quality Australian MADE!!!
  6. Finish exhaust if req R32 can be "chipped" unless you have deep pockets get a FULL service done (can be $$$$) and hold back on major UPGRADES untill u know the car is fine. things like tyres brakes clutch might need to be looked at before turbos.
  7. could your car have different cam's or even the cam timing slightly out.
  8. Handco(k K104 sport "Y" rated (300km) dry 9/10 wet 8.5/10 value A+++ great handling tyre cost $230 for a 255/40/17 From JAX!!
  9. Dont the NASCAR drivers get dizzy??? wonder who will take his seat a SBR and almost garantee a championship in 2006?? Heard todd kelly... fark they could surley do better than him
  10.  GUYS PLEASE. dont talk about MRS doubled like that!!!!
  11. I understand what you are saying SK, I also notice that most of the photos you are showing are from "TRACKS"... (the one above) Most of the others are not... and i aknowledge that you are not allowed to modify vehicles very far but you can upgrade things like Fuel pump (in tank) injectors (in head) PFC (behind kick pannel & in glovebox) cams (cam covers) exhaust (within reason) and to a certian extent twin lowmounts (like 25/30, GTRS), on the original manifolds and your vehicle is capable of some awsome HP and without attracting ANY undue attention from the authorites, I drive for a living and around the southern sub's of brissie and even over the NSW border you have RTA setup like clockwork.. and "ALMOST" every time i go past one there is an IMPORT with the bonnet up and a 19-25 yr old looking at the cops (not knowing whats wrong with their vehicle) I would hate to spend upwards of 3g only to find it gets a defect the first time the screemer pipe opens up.
  12. I dont know if anyone has mentioned it and i don't know if Brian is woried about it or if anyone else is but with a BIG single can the RTA road transport authority give you a defective vehicle for a big single? I dont want to get into the argument of 1big or twins but i would hate it to get it all together and have our friendley "BOYS IN BLUE" come and tell you that you have a defect note, i dont think the insurance company will approve a payout when they pop the hood and see somthing like a T88 staring at them!!
  13. what about looking at the Han**** VENTUS K104 sport. They are a "Y" rated tyre (over 300km) silica compound and i THINK the only tyre on the market rated at this Y spec. I got some for my GTR 4X 255/40/17 at $230 a corner (JAX) are the distributor Ive had Falken, at $350 a tyre Michelen at $400 a tyre dunlop at $300 a tyre, 16inch and i feel that none of these tyres even came close to the VENTUS my 2cents
  14. I was once told by a teacher of mine that the main way to gain power without major changes was to work on a AIR IN AIR OUT theory STD exhaust dumps on the turbo are fairly restrictive, and a 1/2 decent dump will work wonders. Also if you havent already. y not drop in a K&N pannel filter good cheap upgrade for the intake side of things and flow very well with std "COLD" air box !!!!
  15. All these people Quoting OS gieken and the like priced at $2g ??????? Jim Berry is the man, he CAN give you the clamping preassure of your new clutch, (mine 37000) and for a 5 finger carbotic clutch for a GTR with approx 500rwhp (mine) for under $1g (with flywheel) why go anywhere else?? Im not an expert in clutches but as far as i know if you have a spring rated and tested at 37000 pound and you are forcing 5 fingers onto a flywheel rather than a WHOLE plate or even a similar spring trying to grip two full plates the 5 fingers are going to have a GREAT deal more GRIP on the flywheel and less chance slip DONT RIDE THE CLUTCH if you are finding that you are burning clutches out on a regular basis might be worth while to change your driving techniques Oh he is in Brissy and he DOES love a GOOD chat!!! P.S it might bee a good idea for some of the sau members to go to someone like JIM and listen to someone with some actual experiance not just come on here and dribble total SH!T
  16. we have had a CES dump pipe fitted to a R33 GTST replacing the jasma 3" that it was imported with. and the response was like night and day even with new GTRS turbo and other mods, Had a FULL 3 1/2 inch exhaust fitted to my GTR with twin dumps, single N1 style 3 1/2 cannon mufler and hi flo cat, the engine has been fully rebuilt with new turbos fitted and i can say i wouldnt go anywhere else for a Exhaust, I believe he is the only Exhaust shop arround Brizzy with a 3"1/2 mandrell bender all others are only 3 at best, Without the restrictor in the exhaust it is LOUD and sounds great. But for some country driving or some non headturning crusing whakck the baffle in and no droaning and VERY comfortable level. Ive been a believer in you get what you pay for and at the quoted prices for the HKS dumps (from what ive seen) you are getting what you pay for!!! any one go to the HOT ROD show??? would say nearly half the cars worth looking at had CES items under the hood!!! Dont worry about DYNO gains if the system is done RIGHT you will feel the difference just by driving the car (arround town) you wont need to go straight to a dyno to find out how much "POWER" you have gained Especially with my R32 GTR you can "FEEL" the boost coming on (500-1000)rpm earlier with the new system.
  17. im no expert in the 4WD system on GTR's But when i was going to get my R32 gtr dyno'ed on 2WD dyno I said we'll just pull the fuse, the Mechanic whinced and said it would be better to cut and tap the censors to the boot, drain the 4WD fluid, (in the boot) and drop the front drive shaft. He explained to me that by just pulling the fuse for the pump, the diff could still operate and with no (very little) fluid moving around it SHREAD the box.
  18. Xmas 2004 i got my hands on my GTR and since then my hands havent been out of my pockets!!! Just a personel thing, GTR looks good, drives great and cost a SH|T load. as soon as they know the part is 4 a GTR add 50% on what you originaly thought, Oh not to mention INSURANCE!!!
  19. Thats what ive heard, a "Genuine" N1 RACING oil pump is priced at $5000 approx, what we all class as a N1 oil pump is a normal pump with a heavier spring and valve,, thats about it.
  20. R32 GTR standard turbos & elbows, off car that has travelled 73,000km $500 e-mail [email protected]
  21. Mike Vine has a print out from dyno dynamics with similar mods on a VL with those turbos produced 427rwhp, extreemley impressive curve, im not sure weather it was a RB30 with RB26 head or a complete 26 conversion.
  22. I agree get the tyre ballanced on the rim they might have let the work experance fella put em on, I had the same thing and when i got new tyres fitted the weight was on the opposite side it should have been.
  23. Hankock ventus K104 sport tyres are "Y" rated and at approx $210 for a 255/40/17 tyre very affordable they are (ithink) the only "Y" rated street tyre around at the mo. they
