  1. Femi, settle down. Col-GTSX is buying/bought a car that he thinks is pefect, which might or might not be perfect but thats up to him. Wether the car is perfect or not is up to the person's perception, there is no need for you to question his perception as ultimately it is his car. As to my perception of a perfect car.. they can never be perfect, even new ones as there are always room for improvement. ARKAD: Good luck with your sale, looks really tidy..
  2. I agree with Abo.. tho I would perfer to go with BP Ultimate, if possible.. Tho Ant is also correct you should reset the ECU to allow it to self learn/adjust it self to the different fuel qualities here. As to resetting the ECU I didnt find anything on the net to perform it, so I spend 100bucks n got the ECU data streamed (this is to see if the ECU already had any fault logged, at the time my HICAS light was coming on n off) and reset at the same time. I found that resetting the ECU seems to make the car abit more responsive. Oh congrats on purchasing such a nice car.
  3. ecl: From experience changing from triptronic (manual mode) to full auto on up shift is bad! the engine/gearbox dont sound too happy.. on shift down seems to be fine. Going from full auto to triptronic (manual mode) dont seem to have any problem at all at least to me anyway. 2c worth.
  4. Some of the people at zilmere transport dept is quite good unlike the useless people at bundall. Unfortunately it does not guarantee you not getting any defect notices at all. From personal experience. As Erin mentioned you dont need to have mod plates for BOV or Air box. However if you put in say a roll cage, or aftermarket bucket seats (just as a small example) then you will need a mod plate. Oh. I'm pretty sure the ADR mod guide indicates that aftermarket ecu is illegal.. so I'm not sure if it can be mod plated.. correct me if I'm wrong tho.
  5. Hrmm. this is interesting.. I have been in a 33 and a 34 (well did own a 34 as well), to me 34 is definitely more roomy, more specifically back seat room and boot space. If you are choosing between a 33 and 34 then 34 is still the go with the reasons ppl have already mentioned more boot room, more back seat room.. more powerfull engine, cooler looking dash, more agressive body style ( and will turn more head) and last but not least its not as common as 33 atm. And of course the negative side is more $$, but you get what you pay for. PS. there was a 34 for sale at just a lil under 30k.
  6. Roughtly just over a month of waiting.. finally been told that my car will be on a ship tomorrow..
  7. Saw an AE86 with an SR20 in it, from memory it might be a red top.. sounds tough..
  8. I'm surprise how no-one has asked you already.. Anyway.. Are you on drugs? Your asking an insurance company to insure you, yet you with helding information (mods)? Your right no-one in their right mind will ask the insurance company that question (unless its a joke) , how do you think you'll react if your on the receiving end of the question? Your right the insurance company is not one to trust as they are just a business, they have to weight the risk of insuring you with your vehicle. I would definitely suggest you ask insurance company to clarify their policy. List all your mod with your policy when you take it out, save yourself the pain that would occur later if and when something happens to your car. I have had a full comp. policy with JC before and the policy is agreed value, meaning they charge me a set premium to insure the car for a set value. Oh I second NJR 34GTT's comment too. Burto: JC's policy states that they will insure you with watever mods as long as they are legal. Your situation seems unique, I would also be interested to find out too. Won't it make sense to ask JC now rather than later? Better to findout in advance if they are going to void your policy now then when you actually have to make a claim. Choice is yours tho.
  9. V35 is already listed to b eligible to be imported on SEVs, so it would b only a matter of time before it start invading Aus...
  10. Hrmm.. my previous insurance was.. Just Cars.. R34 Gtt, with minor mods 1515 for a year. Tho I was listed as Rating 1 with no previous accident history and no fines, blah blah blah. So I was pretty happy at the time Another company you can try is http://www.vigilins.com.au/ I'm not sure how good they are as I only found out about them recently. So no harm for you to try if you havent already done so.
  11. Correct the turbo timer will be installed differently if you have an alarm and immobiliser, I'd take it to a workshop to have them install it in this case (preferably the shop that installed your alarm). You will also most likely have to fork out a small amount of $$ for an alarm relay that sits between the alarm and the turbo timer as well. If your lucky the workshop might only charge you just the relay cost.
  12. Abit late.. but thought I'd drop my 2c worth.. 1. The thumbs button is both sides so u can either use left or right button to shift and Abo is correct u get used to it for a while. Especially if you like to drive on twisty mountains. 2. On straight or taking off I found the auto shifting (puttin in drive) must more efficient, for some reason when I use the triptronic I do find it rev abit futher however at the expense of hittin the rev limiter all the time (n loose some power when it shifts). Could just be the way I shift tho. But the normal auto shifting is quiet efficient. 3. transmission cut out n free rev? That dont sound too good, did you have your transmission checked out? Someone mentioned about shift kits before, I have test driven a 34 with a shift kit and its absolutely annoying. I tried to drive it both in troptronic shift mode and normal auto mode and cannot really explain it but every upshift is shifting hard even when I try to drive it slow.. Enough to say tat I didnt buy tat car. Mayb I need to test drive a few more cars with shift kits. I'm with sweetr33 about manual shifting is ok, tho on the 34 dont drive with triptronic then suddenly shift to full auto. The transmission will allow it, but its not a good feeling at all.. N dont ask me why I did it. If your car has some mods (ie. FMIC) I would suggest a data streaming and also ECU reset at the same time. People might not agree but it made a hell of an impression on my car after it was reset. The car seems to boost alot faster ( the stock boost gauge still shows the boost level before reset) for some reason and for some reason feels a lot more efficient to drive.. This is the proper ECU reset tho, none of the disconnect battery things....
  13. I'll be out again when my bucket gets here
  14. I'm guessing its a S2000. I think it looks pretty sweet without the gtr badge of course.
  15. R34 has the battery under the bonnet from factory, not in the boot like the 33s
  16. The pin out is meant to be exactly the same as a GTT 34 pin out.. so you may wish to try ppl with a 34 as well.
  17. Think charly n squizz should get a room to "release" all the lover's quarrel energy..

  21. Hrmm.. guess the backlog of shippin could explain why my car is still not on a boat yet..
  22. Agreed that you drive whichever way you feel comfortable with, however puttin it in neutral is definely a bad practice what mcnamg mentioned is a very good example. Also if you dont agree how about when you go for your manual license put your car into neutral when you are slowly stopping As to your statement of AUTO!!! Are you saying that it shifts to neutral automatically? if so then why is there a neutral gear that you have to "shift" to, if you want to put the car in neutral? Oh yer. when I drive a manual I do use the gears and brake to slow down the vehicle to a halt. Also downshift going into and out of a corner as well.. just a habit I guess. This is going to sound weird but I also do the same thing in triptronic cars. :Paranoid: My 2c worth.
