  1. Hi guys, I'm at it again. I've measured up and designed a new radiator for the DR30. At first I had a design that was going to suit my race car for when I moved the engine right back, but because the full race engine is on hold (along with the all new engine mounting) I've decided the get a new radiator design done that will bolt in and offer improved cooling using the PWR core. I'm awaiting PWR to come back to me with a price, but thought I'd see if anyone on here would be interested in purchasing one. Please reply or PM if interested. Cheers Pete
  2. That looks amazing!
  3. I wish I knew the colour! I need a litre or so mixed up so I can bast a few and patch up some other stuff. Maybe I should so the engine bar and cage/interior the same blue?
  4. Got started on the bodywork side of things today. Was cutting the rear guard until I ran out of disc - so that will have to be continued. Not looking forward to the actual cutting and welding up of the rust areas but hopefully I can do a reasonable job of it. Might need to practice with the TIG for a while before I hit any of those thin panels! On the strut tower the good news is it's only through a single skin. The bad news is I dont know how easy it will be to cut a single skin out. Looks like there are some spot welds that might need to go.
  5. Yours is much nicer.... http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/54791/nissan_skyline_r32_gt_r_rb26_calsonic_replica_1991.html
  6. The engine is ready to come out to fix this bloody rust. Might as well save a bit more and get the whole inside and out painted... it will never be this apart ever again. Just need to strip some window trim, rear bumper and lights and it will be completely stripped (once engine and box are out).
  7. The rust. Hopefully engine will be out next weekend...
  8. 7 fronts left 8 rears Just to let you know the bearing hold-up has been sorted but still a couple of weeks away. Still taking orders as they will be shipped as soon as the bearings arrive. No hold up if you just want rears. Can be purchased through: http://www.brysport.com/shop.html
  9. Hopefully by the end of the year, budget permitting. I will build a basic engine/gearbox combo just to see me through until I can build a proper engine. I'll be running s standard style gearbox for the moment so really don't want anymore than about 300hp which will be fine while I fine tune everything else.
  10. Although this build has been underway for about 2 years and I've been posting about it in the classic Skylines section I thought I'd let you guys know in here too. It was going to hit the track soon but I found some rust so decided the drop the motor/box and do it all properly. Here's where it's currently at. For more check out the classic section of the forums.
  11. Manifolds came off this morning. Hopefully engine will be out next week. Took the time to design the new radiator. Racing rules stipulate that I have to use the standard rad mounts, and I'm not allowed to cut the radiator support panel in any way, making nice short intercooler piping a problem. My solution - move the radiator back further and run the piping through each end. I'm moving the engine back anyway so shouldn't be an issue. Also means I get get more weight further back!
  12. Hey guys, I'm looking to get a bunch of kits made for the FJ20 to get rid of the dizzy and replace it with a ford based coil pack, along with a trigger wheel and sensor mount. It will be a bolt in kit (although the front pulley will have to be modified (also considering designing a new on of these too for the dry sump kit I'm designing, but more on that later). I can also supply the kit with the coil that bolts on where the old dizzy was (meaning you can use the same leads) and also a trigger sensor for the wheel. Kit pictured below is a test kit - finished product will be hard anodised and look pretty. Just trying to get an idea of numbers. Price isn't finalised yet (even though my website says otherwise!)
  13. Hey guys, I have some pricing and these kits are selling now. I am awaiting final delivery of the new bearings and as soon as they arrive I can start shipping. I have a front set sold already already so currently have: 8 fronts left 9 rears Front and rear kit as a package is $350 Front alone is $220 Rear alone (will also fit R31) is $160 You can purchase via my website www.brysport.com/shop.html Also have a few more exciting DR30 and FJ20 bits coming...
  14. I realised this morning while this guy came to pop the screen out that mine is the original Nissan glass. He reckons it's laminated but I'll follow it up just in case. Found 7 spots of rust to fix, just in the screen area. Annoying but glad I've pulled the screen as I can now get the cage stitched into the a-pillars. Hopefully next weekend the engine and box will be out then I can really get stuck into it. Speaking of popping the screen out, the guy who did it was Lindsay Moore. A legend who will pop a screen out and then put it back in for $100 (and if he needs to source you a new screen will do that too). He went out of his way to come into my studio this morning, did a great job and took a lot of care and as he was just removing the screen it was only $50. As the screen was original and the car had a lot of rust, plus some dodgy repairs from the past he took his time in getting it removed gently. I tried to pay him more but he refused to take it. I would highly recommend this guy to anyone. It's not often I'm overly impressed with the level of service some people offer but this guy is awesome! His number is 0425 373 448. All Auto Glass is his business.
  15. Finally got the rears fitted today. So glad it all just works. Such a relief! I'm now going to finalise the order for the motorsport spec bearings (unlike other kits on the market, they will use proper motorsport/aircraft spec bearings which have much tighter tolerances. I have used the highest quality materials in this design so no point skimping there either. Will add a bit more cost but it's well worth it. Much more height available now - with the standard S13 rear struts at full extension they were well below normal DR30 ride height. With these you can now get a standard ride height without having to be at full extension meaning the car will ride a heap better.
  16. Hey guys, I have here the following parts, if no one wants them I'll throw them out. DR30 Standard pedals DR30 booster and master (were working perfectly before removal) Electric mirrors (still on car so will need to be removed) DR30 RSX intercooler and piping - $100
  17. So I've taken all the front panels off the car so I could start on some rust repairs and have found even more rust under the windscreen. At least I've found it now, but looks like I'll have to pop the screen. Am seriously contemplating popping all the glass, doors, rear lights and bumper and then having the entire car sprayed inside and out as the car will probably never be in so many pieces again. It's annoying though as it's just more money to spend! Also the new bump steer and rear strut top kit fits perfectly! More on that later though. Anyone ever popped a windscreen before, without cracking it?
  18. Kit fitted - plenty of bump steer adjustment. Next up the rears. Will have a proper wheel alignment done so I can advice which spacers go where.
  19. Well thats what I've been told by Kameari America. I'll 100% confirm this before purchase though and try to get a max torque output too.
  20. I've been contemplating gearboxes for a long time. At first I was going to use the tried and tested RB25DET box, but I know it's big and heavy, and seeing as I'm going to a lot of trouble to reduce the weight of the car, it seemed like a bit of a waste. I was also looking at Quaife and Holinger boxes but the price of the boxes, plus bell housings etc was just too much. I stumbled across this close ratio kit : http://www.rhdjapan.com/kameari-super-close-gear-set-l-type-fj20et-hr31-zenki.html which was looking promising. A bolt in kit meaning I can use the standard box, and an uprated clutch. Best of all it comes in at about $1500 bucks. Not bad. Also just found out today the gear set is rated to 450hp max, which will mean it could do the trick. So I think I have made my choice....
  21. And here is how it fits together. Unfortunately didn't get to fitting over the weekend so this weekend it'll be!
  22. I'm hoping to have the DR30 finished for this event! Dad will have his Prince back within the month so we'll hit it up with 2 race cars (hopefully!)
  23. The kits have arrived. Just waiting on bearings and cir-clips. SO far so good with the test fitting though.
  24. On a different note the bump steer / rear strut top mount conversion kits arrived. Have just done a really quick dummy fit but so far so good. Stay tuned...
