  1. yeh the sporties is a stones throw for me. Depending on work, I'll be there
  2. once there on, they dont fill the ring up with a soild red light, makes the car look tackie. The round rings of red, you see ahead of you in traffic is whats sets the skyline apart.
  3. I dont think they really know or care about the ADM, as they had 43000 units pumping out over 5 years to keep'em busy. And as most if not all not don't know about the term JDM, I dont think ADM been talked about much. The other day i had a read on the john, and stumbled across your ADM in Unique Cars magazine. Well i read the article, then read this thread and noticed the plates matched, as did the name bob, Thats when i realised it was you. Every clean paint , Every nice car. That has to be one of the tidiest 32 gtr's around
  4. I've been looking around for a set but none of them look any good
  5. Hey Ronin 09 The covercraft cover you've got for your R32 GTR, Is it the custom fit or loose fit?
  6. i cant understand why people want there tyres out side the wheel arch or why they get tyres that dont even cover the rim, It kinda defeats the purpose of bigger rims. The section of rim thats out side the arch throws up rocks, stones, dirt as there isnt any wheel arch to catch any if it, hence why they are illegal. In saying that, it all comes down to the HWY patrol officer and how much he knows the law and what car he likes and doesnt like, seriously! If he likes your car he'll leave it alone, if he dislikes it, he'll go on the war path.
  7. I dont agree, we may have only 10gst and a staggered income tax system but the gov doesnt tell you about all there other taxes, levies and fees. The gst was meant to abolish a lot of these other taxes but its didn't happen, we get double taxed on heaps of things with heaps of unknown levies and fees. If you added all our taxes levies and fees, we get stung hard and we dont reap any of the crazy benefits of countrys that have high taxes. France, they have super high tax, but you dont pay anything for medical , you changed job you get a week paid by the gov to help with the move. You have a baby you get a nanny 4 times a week to do the house work the crazy list goes on and on. Moving the threshold from 1000 to 30 is just another way to get more taxes, more money. As most of us are buy overseas with the dollar how it is at the moment and in doing so the gov doesnt get any tax from us. And if you think they will remove other taxes and levies, your kidding yourself, They might remove a own tax or levy but they'll slip in another on the sly.
  8. i'm seeing all this info about auto level and self cleaning. but at the end of the day the lumen level will always be the first factor in deciding whether they are legal. If its too bright its too bright. Auto level ,do they adjust the high in relation to the distance to the car ahead to not be in someones eyes?, what about cars on the other side of the road? Halogen's with the right colour and lumen level should do ya, its not like your roo hunting and we do have street lights and high beam when you need it. Lights that are too bright would have to be one of the more dangerous mods someone can perform and It seems like a whole load of effort just for some light, how often does one drive at night?
  9. How'd you go with your order? This has been bought up on sau before, so you could try a google search of sau topics n see what comes up in regards to people purchasing off the site.
  10. Mate, you'd be best to kindly pm him of his opinion
  11. im surprised people run just water and havent had too many problems. Water boils, then evaporates, thats one of the reasons of coolant its anti-freeze and anti-boil Doesnt freeze over at cool temps and Doesnt boil like a kettle at hot temps For a few bucks, it gives you peace of mind.
  12. herb, have a look in car sales, was on there about 3 wks ago. This 32 gtr needs a good home, its perfectly original.
  13. lol Yeah 2006 that sounds about right. That quote you ended with 'oh, you have an excel with an exhaust and you read hot 4's? you must be quoted by Shannons!' tooooo funny bro. hahaha
  14. I did try to pm ya, but wont let me. hey matt, I want to ask why you chosse the gen3 ls1 of all the LS series engines? There are quite a few in the range. They are solid engine, as i've owned 1 before. I really wanted to say, avoid 2nd hand gen 3 ls1's from VT SS series 2 and VX SS series 1 ( unless your rebuilding) as they had a problem termed 'piston slap'. Basically holden just through in these engines that were spec'd to american conditions so the bore to piston tolerances were quite big, to deal with the extreme change in hot and cold temp's they have, so they used excessive amounts of oil and the piston would slap against the block, ultimately killing engines. With my VX SS series 1, holden had to replace the engine at about 35000km's with a revised ls1 that continued in the VX series 2 and beyond Also when you dump the ls1 into your 33, can the car continue to be 4wd or just rwd?
  15. With the shannons and car club membership, I can only speculate but I'd suggest that must of gone out the window when Suncorp Metway took over. As i said earlier in my personal experience, they think bottom line, profits! so i suppose they didn't wanted to excluded potential customers. Chris totally agree mate, nothings better then shopping around. Even better, is having car enthusiast's like yourself in the industry, to give out helpful opinions
  16. nah the daily has to be your car with nrma full comp in your name so the skyline or whatever needs to be your 2nd car. I'll elaborate on that 15yr rule too. As quotes from there pds "Under this policy,we cover > classic vehicles- which are vehicles 15 years of age or more and recognised by us as a collectable vehicle"
  17. Yes. salvage rights come automaticly with this insurance. Mods, yeh they are covered if you disclose them. There was 4 or 5 big details I left out before you'll even be looked at, those being.... 1. You have to already have a full comp insurance policy on a daily driver 2. The car needs to be 15yrs or older 3. You have to pay in full, no monthly payments 4. Limited to 9000km/yr 5. Car has to be garaged So there is some conditions for this specialty insurance.
  18. Your age is a killer for insurance , hey you say your 21 but ya got a twin turbo. You off your greens? Really wow, see one of the reasons I went with nrma was the ute I drive as a daily now has been in the family from new but has traded hands many times between mt father my brother and me. My father in his earlier years was a courier and had 2 at fault, 1 not at fault and my brother when he was a courier had 4 or 5 at fault and 1 not at fault and it was always fixed, and fixed with oem parts not chinese rubbish. You've got to be firm with them as we are paying for a service but most companies seem to forget that. Yeh mate always good to compare peoples stories, theres always going to be stories from both sides of the fence. Its also great to be able to have a conversation with people on here without it getting nasty , But as i've seen, just about everyone who has posted in this thread are nsw club members, hence the friendly chit chat. i hate when you express an opinion and someone builds a wall and loads the gun n fires at ya
  19. With my recent purchase of insurance in the 32 gtr, its cost me 935p/a agreed value set at 25000 with no depreciation in value as the yrs go by, unlike most insurance companies. I'm 27y/o, I am also able to have as many nominated drivers as I like, and I can also have under 25y/o drivers on there too, thats with NRMA. I'm guesting when you say you can only have one driver, your talking about insurance with just cars. By far the worst and most expensive insurance company for a skyline and this is most likely why.... Suncorp metway own AAMi and Just cars and shannons and 1 or 2 others. they have spread there wings to target the whole insurance market. AAMI- insurance only normal cars Just cars- high performance Shannons- classic (although if your in a car club they'll insure any car) Thats why aami wont insurance a skyline as they bought just cars out for that reason, to target the high performance & import market. With AAMI being one of the big insurance companies, if they wont insure any high performance or import car they are forcing people to other insurances companies like Just Cars which target that market, At the end of it Suncorp Metway own the lot so behind AAMI , Shannons and Just Cars its all the same insurance, same underwriter, just with a different name. Performance and driver age are the 2 biggest factors with insurance, then add the limited access to replacement parts for grey imports and you've got yourself a recipe for bulls**t quotes or no insurance at all. When I transfered the insurance into my name with the VX SS and added my brother and father as nominated drivers with shannon's they denied a claim where my brother was involved in a 3 car incident on the M5, $17000 in damage. 11mouths , an insurance investigator , a lawyer and the insurance ombudsman later i finally got a full pay out. We couldnt understand why shannons where denying the claim, even with police reports stating someone else was at fault, We found out shannon's, who was owned and operated my a car enthusiast was sold and bought out buy Suncorp metway whos bottom line is profit. I'd be wary of them all, as they might give a good quote but come to a claim time they will drag you through the dirt. red P's with NA liner, like owen said 'enjoy bending over for the foreseeable future'. Your in the 18 to 25 male age group, statistics suggest your highly likely to crash your car at some point, then add a semi performance RWD import. You'd be lucky to get insured or insured at a realistic price, hence why i say have everything in your fathers name and get your self on as a full-time driver, insurance is a third of the price and thats from personal experiences
  20. when i say pc based networks,im talking about the generic coding that pc programmes run on un like mac,i work in the NOC room. National Observation Room in a few data centres. Nah mate, its all good, thats why people use data centres they are man'ed 24/7, with people and programmes to stop unwanted s**t in the system. You can't get better security. And with the comment "having a PC , you may as well bender over now as the hackers will f**k you anyway" is still one of the silliest things I've read on the internet, like i said earlier its a joke between me and the boys at work. we say in regards to domestic applications, cause all the stories we have told between each other about PC products isnt generally the best when you consider how much time and money people spend on security like norton's or kaspersky only to have there computer affected by some virus or trojan or the like. I just made that comment, for a laugh. You may get someone on here who runs no security on there PC, good on them but they run a very high percentage risk. but you've got some programmers who write code for pc products who then turn hacker or smart evil bastards who go straight into writing code for worns and viruses to attack pc encoded systems. As the majority of the world uses PC and all the business in world run pc. Pc's run on an open system, where macs run on a closed system. The up and down side is, Apple have a monopoly on there products with only a handful of people making programmes for them but pc's its open to anyone, thats how you get all these different brands making software for pc as there is a generic code to start, then a programmer adds his own code to make a programme or for a hacker, adds his own code for a virus. Im not here to defend myself, you either like it or you don't, get on with life. Everyones different, thats whats makes life great!
  21. import or not its a 5.7L V8, 6 speed manuel, they all go in the category high performance vehicle. At 20 i was getting offered insurance at a price of 8000+,which is them basically telling me to get f**ked. Under my fathers name with me on full-time, it trickled down to 2209. There is a very high percentage of people under the age 25 driving them, adding to that, they generally have a turbo or 2, so between those two alone it seemingly sets off alarm bells, hence the bulls**t prices. Also with the term 'imports', i think it has a very loose meaning. If you compared a ADM to a JDM R32 GTR, they'd both be viewed as imports, imported in different ways, but still an import, just like all nissan's and subaru's , Basically everything is an import other then ford or holden. The term 'import' covers a a lot of cars and therefore doesnt play any role with insurance I believe I myself, over the last mouth or so i just purchased some, and i was asked my age, engine displacement , non-turbo or turbo(s) and the like ,normal stuff. Not is it an import
