Hey guys

My car is at the workshop being complied (R33) and i was under the impression that for your approx $3k for compliance, you get the car complied and thats it.

Someone else is telling me that you also get a RWC and 1 year registration included.

thats the first ive ever heard of it....anyone able to clear this up?

thanks

its a definite no as i had always thought. never heard of rego or RWC having anything to do with compliance

the car should be in a RWC state or very close to it after being complied, and rego will be the normal cost + stamp duty etc

Yup, all compliance is, is the "right" to get the car rego'ed. The RAWS scheme means that it is recognised in all states.

If the Car fails the RWC after leaving the compliance shop, then the shop could possibly

lose their RAWS licence (assuming you have'nt touched the car), as compliance means that the car "complies" with all Australian ADRs (Design rules), which , by implication, means that it is roadworthy.

However, if you've added bigger wheels, exhaust, etc... after compliance, but BEFORE the roadworthy, then there is no guarantee it will pass. Do these things AFTER you've got your rego.

I thought there was always quite a big difference between compliance and RWC.

Compliance modifies the things on your car so that it suits the adr's.. so side intrusion bars, 'unleaded fuel only' sticker, fuel ristrictor, child restraints ect ect...

whereas roadworthies are more things like, rotor and pad thickness, chips or scratches on the windscreens, tyre wear.

I had 15yr compliance only, and I know that SEVS is stricter. But is it the resposonsibility of the compliancer to make sure that the breaks and tyres and windscreen are fine too??

  • 2 weeks later...

VicRoads will require a RWC along with the engineers certificate (VASS). It might be that the compliancer also provides the RWC, but I'd be surprised if you got a years rego also paid (not saying it's not possible tho....best talk to your compliancer about what's included in their fee).

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
