I can't actually see any markings on it, so I might take some photos and post them up. Telll me what you think it is.

I was just told by the guy I bought the car off that it was a Power Getter.

(Looks a little like an Apexi N1 from some photos just quietly....)

Well, here it is.

I can't see any markings other than the Jasma rating on the back.

Thoughts?

It's for sale if anyone wants it.

Might just get a whole new exhaust custom made to be deep but quiet.

I've got a 4'' cat, super turbo 3'' muffler and 3'' cannon style muffler.

When we fitted the super turbo the car was beautiful, but when I fitted the hks2835 pro s kit it got loud again!!!

I'm in the same boat as you bass and am getting annoyed with the drone.

I'm thinking about one of those dual exit style cannon muffler in the hope that it's a bit quiter - does anyone use one of these?

it's a power getter... same as mine...

I have the turbo back Stainless Steel 3" CES exhaust system on my R34 Sedan which comprises of a Split front HPC coated dump, hiflow cat, smaller muffler and a Magnaflow Muffler (3" in to a twin 3" out) and it is very quiet. It passed the wife and new born baby test easily.

At the last Skid Pan Day, people commented on how good it sounded from the outside with a nice deep tone, but without the droney sounds inside the cabin.

And since then people on the street have also commented. I couldn't be happier with a 87dba and fairly free flowing system.

My 2cents

The power getters arent supposed to be quiet, I think thats where the Fujitsubo Legalis R comes in. I had a listen to a few of the sound files on the Fujitsubo site and you can definately tell the difference between the PowerGetter and other models.

I have a HUGE 5zigen muffler and it does not drone at highway speeds and has a nice note at idle.

I now have only ONE muffler being the above after removing the middle one, with a 3" cat and full exhaust, admittedly running standard turbo on 10psi, but is not loud at all.

I have found the cannon style of mufflers really do SFA when it comes to reducing noise by any amount. I will post pics when I get a chance...

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
