Im abit of a stuborn bastard, so im going with the LINK. Cant beat a wire-in unit for $970 . My auto electrician does his work really cheap so wiring it up will only be a couple of hundred. And if caminperth ran his NEO with an R33 ECU then I dont see why the LINK wont run it.

Cheers guys :)

why dont u just remove the vvti and just run a normal cam gear then u can run your link ecu no problems

tell me how yours goes ok?...i'm getting my NEO into my R33 this week as well..having the same issues at the moment. not sure watto use. i know PFC is great and all, and i plan to use one in near future, but need something which allows VVT to work as well as work effective and efficiently. getting my mechanic to check it out..then i'll tell u guys n gals how it turns out..

Personally, my first choice would be to get an R34GTT loom and a Power FC.  My second choice would be an R33GTST loom and  power FC.  My third choice would be an R32GTST loom and a Power FC.  Myfourth choice would be to "wire in" the Power FC, its no harder to wire in a PFC in than any other computer.

It a simple the cost / performance ratio, you will spend far more money on getting the base tuning of any other ECU compared to a PFC than buying a harness will cost.

:domokun: cheers :)

My choice would be to burn all the Power FC's and use stock remapped ECU.

Link suck too BTW....just thought I would add that. They suck more than any other computer on the market.

If you buy the Microtech you will have to get another wiring loom from Microtech as the BMW one will not suit your NEO engine...I didn't think that would need explaining. This will add to the cost of your install. Plus if you pay any more than $1200 for an LTX12 then you are getting ripped off.

My choice would be to burn all the Power FC's and use stock remapped ECU.

;):rofl::P

we have a bright one here.

the pfc has run everything from 8sec drag gtr (1100 plus hp) to you every day driver plug and play and is most likely the most uesd and loved after market ecu for an RB engine bar none.

Thankyou.

You can run an 8 sec GTR on stock ECU. The factory ECU is far more manageable than the powerFC. The factory ECU can run an 8 sec GTR FAR BETTER than a PowerFC. The factory ECU is also far better for driveability on the street. Sure...many people opt for the power FC for ease of tune and coz that's what his fully sick mate got on his GTR but sacrifice driveability for it. And if you want to insult my intelligence again we can take it offline and I'll show you how bright I really am!

I could be wrong and probably are but doesn't the PFC designed for the Neo engine run the VVT? Now I could be a real dunce and have only imagined that for the last couple of years the PFC in my R34 was running the VVT but like I said I could be wrong.................

ok name a 8 sec factory ecu gtr for us all mate

as the car i talk of is well known around the world and has run in a number of different country not some .... imagination or is this all just i could be build like every other dreams comments(with not proof just babble). Next time you slag a product bring a brain and some fact or proof even.

APEXI PFC in my and hugh number of rb drivers around the world consider this the best plug and play ecu for street use (value for money like no other)

Apexi drag car runs over 1100hp and 8 sec 1/4

KW 8 and 9sec still runs the apexi pfc in his drag car(s) for monitoring a long side his full motec system, would you think he would buy both and installing a pfc if they were shit if he had a full motec going in also.

well some real cars and fact to chew on

pete

Girls - stop the fighting. You're turning this guy's thread into a PFC v the world debate..

In short ANY ecu that will run an R33 rb25 with also run an R34 Neo rb25....

Choose what your tuner will support and be able to use.

well guy come out and slags a product will no proof or fact so i felt it only fair to defend it will a few facts. And i like SK stand by the APEXI PFC as the best choice even if it requires a new loom as the cost will be out weighted when it comes to tuning as the pfc has 90% of the work done already and in the hands of a good tunew is only a couple of hours from a perfect tune no matter the state of mods to the rb (verse for example i was quoted 2 days to get a motec system up to speed) motec is awesome no doubt but you are starting from scratch with they systems and at the $$ per hour rate of dyno and tuner.

Pete - sure, everything you've said is great as long as he has a tuner in New Zealand that supports the PFC. No point him getting one if the tuner doesn't know how to use it.

DRFT14 - let us know which way you go and how it ends up.

I'd go the Microtech. They are easy to wire in. Very clearly labbeled wires, you won't need to go get the AFM or loom. Its cheaper and just as easy as the other options. LT12 is a great computer.

I wired my Microtech in myself and was very easy to do, I had never done anything like it before, got it right and have had no issues, so it can't be hard.

People always like to stick with what they know, most people on here love the PowerFC, maybe because they are an awesome plug and play and come ready to drive with little tuning required. Full tune for the Microtech only cost $300, so it can't be to hard to tune either.

    • Take a couple of the big ones back to "work", leave them in the big bin.   Will make a good boom when the garbage truck emptys it out... I've heard from another source about the boom when they had put I believe it was a 4cylinder engine in the big bins at Richmond base...
    • That idea has crossed my mind, I do a 5km walk everyday, this does take me past some bushland......I think you may be onto something 😉  That, plus 1 rock on every bin night might do the trick, it may take a year, but it could save me a couple of grand The only issue is the big 'Boonies", I have a few that weigh around 30-40kg, maybe they should be the first to go into the raised garden bed,  and then let the next owner deal with them....my daughter gets the joint when I kick the bucket, mums the word mate......LOL Noice......
    • Wow. Did you call the car a Nissan Skyline?
    • You're retired Mark, on bin night, go for a walk, kind of like you're doing the beep test. Put one rock in the first neighbours, come back, get another rock, go to the second neighbours, repeat over many weeks. All rocks eventually gone...
    • No chop chop of anything mate, it is what it is, plus, I don't want any air that isn't either going through the cooling stack or intake getting into the engine compartment increasing under bonnet pressure  Yeah, the Mazda Speed aftermarket intake above is less than ideal for multiple reasons, the requirement to remove the bumper every time you need to service the filter, and also smaller in diameter than the NC1 OEM one Weirdly, Mazda Speed is part of the Mazda motorsport division, "form over function" and $$$$$ for Mazda from unsuspecting punters I suspect  After some googling about them it seems they added no power, but do increase some induction noise Meh In other news, the electricians have been busy today at the house, and are back tomorrow finishing up all the security stuff and exterior lighting, they also added some lighting on the garage ceiling, which will come in handy when working in the garage when it's not freezing out there My Birdies raised garden bed also arrived today as well, which I'll put together and place tomorrow, it's a big tall Bessie, 74cm high, 92cm wide and 214cm long, this will come in handy as I am starting to get "stockpiles" of good soils from doing landscaping, some of the clean rock, namely the river stone, will go into the bottom of the bed for drainage, as well as the old Apricot tree that was out the back,  and when it's full, I'll grab another one, I will be growing enough veggies to keep me both busy as well as supplementing the shopping list I'm also awaiting another quote for a new Colourbond front fence, as the "1980 style cemented in rock edging" that was there and "fashionable at the time" looked arse, and my god, the amount of cement used to fix the rock was insane, it took 1.5 days for me to break out 12 meters of the stuff by hand, trim the bushes back to the fence line and dump it out the back of the joint to deal with at a later date,I will soon need a skip bin to tip it all Unfortunately they did alot of the cemented in rock around the joint, which I hate, so a few pallets of retaining wall blocks for around the front and back where the cemented in rock is will be required to bring it up to a standard, and look, that I will be happy with 12 meters worth of rock and cement Finished smashing the fence line and ready for a fence to be installed, yes, the lawns need some TLC and thickness, the previous owner trimmed the grass to the roots 😢, the TLC I can provide, and nature over time will do the rest And there's probably about another 40 meters worth of this landscaping abomination left to do around the front and back gardens, I'm guessing maybe 3 or 4 tons worth, tip fees for this will be a killer Meh, all in all I'm having fun and keeping busy, plus, it's good PT
