Hey biatches !

My rocker cover gasket leak has finally gotten to the stage where it is leaking onto the manifold so I had better do something about it.

Question: Where can I got one from to suit RB20DET? Should I gen nissan or will another one suffice ?

Thanks. :)

yeah and u will probally be better off replacing both gaskets, meaning both rocker covers, cos if one is gone i'm sure the other is on its way too. dam i didn't think there were 40...

dude do it urself and save the cash, just disconnect all that top L bend inlet crap, undo all those screws/bolts and pop the thing off. clean it up, put new gaskets in the groove that it sits in and put all back together. There is a particular order to put those bolts back in to ensure its evenly done up, was in the skyline workshop manual if remember correctly.

Hopefully these 2 images make sense. Its of my VIN of when my car used to be a RB20DE, and i'm sure its the same with RB20DET.

PS: Just found my reciept, and confirming i only needed 20 rubber washers.

gaskets were 29.57 each and washers 42.80 all up plus 10.19 tax coming to 112.15 in total from garry rogers nissan in glen waverley. Also those part numbers mentioned on that FAST screenshot are same with on the reciept.

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
