I fail to understand why 'everyone' would want a Japanese manual.... i mean, should just 1 person buy it, and then do a group buy on translating the entire manual?

That way everyone still pays around the $100 mark, and get a Translated copy instead. Mind you it may have taken longer, but I know personally Id NEVER fork out the cash for a foreign languange book which Ive got no time or resources to have translated.

oh well, all the best with it - if someone ever translates it, PM me and Id love to buy a proper copy in the future.

sorry guys, I'm in adelaide atm since last week, and I haven't had access to the interweb till yesterday. Turns out they weren't mailed out, but I've been told they will be shortly.

have you found out if they have been mailed yet?

Sorry andrew they haven't been mailed out... real bad timing as I just left on holidays, and I've been in Adelaide for the last week (as per last post) and in Syd till the 23rd. If anyone wants their money back I'm happy to refund it.

im not worried bout the money, ive just got things that i want to do to my stagea, and it would be much easier with the manuals.

anyways...so your saying that we should definately have them by the end of the month?

Be careful please Alex, slandering of businesses is not tolerated anywhere on the forums.

Although I can understand everyone's frustrations, this has nothing to do with JSpec, it has to do with Funky the postage is his responcability, no matter who he gave it to for postage, he should be the one ultamitly responcable for it. Now he has stated his reasons for nothing happening, and if you do not recieve anything from him or a refund, then I would suggest you all submit a bad trader rating.

Other than that, there is not much else you can do.

All that said I would have to say that people have lives and if Funky is on holidays then there is nothing much he can do until he gets back. If no joy is gained after that, then and only then proceede further.

edited; not getting involved in this one!!

(although if Alex has had delay problems before with Jspec, then his percieved point of view can not be read as slanderous)

I've purchased two cars through J-spec.

One arrived, there were delays all over the place, but thats understandable so no harm done.

The second, well, there must not be many mechanics in Japan as i waited over 6 weeks for an inspection that never happend and in the end demanded the car be resold and a refund given.

In this case, in post #72 Funky said "They were sent middle of last week (using regular post) so it should arrive soon." So that makes me think that the CD's were actually already burnt and ready to go. Hence, the hold up must be with Jspec as he said in post #83 "Might check with the guy that does the postal run (sent with company mail) to see what was done"

Unfortunatly I lack to see why Funky needs to be in Melbourne for them to be sent? They are burnt, packed, addressed and ready to go....according to him. Both Ian and I have also offered to go around there and sort this out.

I know it is frustrating guys, buy yelling and screaming about things isnt going to solve anything is it?

I have PM'd Funky about this, but lets all try to stay civilised and deal with this in an adult manner please!

BTW I am on no ones side, just trying to keep the thread from going ugly, that's all.

    • Time will tell, they're doing all the admin stuff at the moment. I've submitted all the required details, photos, etc.   I was under the impression that DC coupling is the best approach, i.e.: Solar Array -> Battery Invertor -> Battery  Where as AC Coupling is simpler, however less efficient, i.e.: Solar Array -> Solar Invertor -> Battery Invertor -> Battery
    • The price is really great for that kind of capacity. I thought similar setups cost way more. How's your efficiency been with the DC-coupling? I've heard sometimes there can be a bit of a performance loss.
    • Long time no random post about shit. So I went down this deep deep rabbit hole of battery storage for the home, ended up locking in a 41.9kWh Fox ESS EQ4800 with 9 units stacked. Battery uses Lithium Iron Phosphate, similar to what you find in those deep cycle boat/caravan batteries. And yes, why did I go with a cheapie brand and not like Synergy? simply because I don't plan to stay at this house for more than another 3~5 years.  The entire install, DC coupling (removal of existing invertor, connecting the current 6.6kW array direct to the battery invertor), new 8kW invertor is $6K all up (after all the rebates etc.). Going with this lot: https://www.aussiesolarbatteries.com.au/ It did seem a bit too good to be true, however seems like the Whirlpool community has vetted it and when it comes to this kind of stuff, they seem to be all over it: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/9pxj8482?p=38   I've requested for the battery to be installed outside, next to my meter board and not inside - rather have it combust and ignite outside lol.
    • In Vic it would be a defect regardless of whether or not you cut a hole in the sheetmetal for the return pipe. The rules in Vic are shitful, and are generally interpreted as you can "make 2 mods to the intake system". Putting an FFP and an FMI onto it will almost certainly be seen as some huge number of intake mods. You really need to speak to an engineer before doing this stuff in VIC.
    • planning a r34 rb25 de+t with some other work, rather just have it done in a shop due to space limitations any recommendations? I have most the parts already I seen online Moore Performance and DR Drift any advice appreciated thanks
