so i sealed the deal to buy a r34 and everythings going sweet.

then i call my loan company and they dont want to give me the loan because its not a big company.

they go they will give me the loan if i buy it from nissan (yeh as if, who makes those cars anymore)

unless i go for personal loan or to another company i cant get the loan. the only reason im with this company is because i get a interest rate of 8% but anything else is like 12%.

guys can u help me out here how can i get around this bs

Head over to HSBC and take out a personal loan (for around $30k I'll assume)... you'll be hit with 9.95% p.a. fixed and have the option of paying weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

I went for a car loan with them (7.75% p.a. fixed) but that fell through as the 34 is a "grey import" so they won't do it.

Personal loans are better as the car is not held as security if you default, you don't have to have comprehensive insurance (I don't know why you wouldn't though) and the rate makes it only $20 more expensive per fortnight.

My 2 c

Good Luck

I've never understood this!! I'm sure it's right as lots of ppl say to do it, but I don't understand how it works??

u redraw money you have already paid off your home. say u've paid 100k already. it then drops to 70k if u redraw 30k. just means your paying ur loan off longer so the bank gets more interest payments out of you.

of course your loan needs to have the redraw option available to it, as not all do.

another way is the revalue your house and draw against that if its more than original valuation when you got your home loan.

Generally speaking a home loan will be much cheaper (interest-wise) when put in comparison to a car/personal loan. The simple matter being the longer loan terms, and ultimately the larger loan principles.

Think about it this way, the larger the amount you borrow the less interest the bank will "charge" you percentage wise. It's because the smaller percentage is still a HUGE amount and offsets the loss - also because there is less risk involved (you'll need much more credit to be able to borrow anything big).

Go enquire about borrowing a million dollars and you'll be very surprised at the interest rate that is applicable :)

yeah i understand what you guys have said...

but say you have 300k loan and you add 30k for the car... so 330k loan. So you're paying interest on 330k every time they calculate it!

i would have thought you'd pay less interest by having the car loan seperate and having them calculate it on the 30k (even if the rates higher).

i hope I'm making sense

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
