I have been told several times that there is a speed limiter on stock standard skylines. First i was told it was at 180, then when i exceeded that speed limit, i was told it was at 200...

Anyone have an answer for me? Thanks heaps...

i reckon i was pushing 200... i wasnt near the top speed for my car, and i went far past the 180 mark on the speedo...

anyone know how i could physically tell if i have one or not without going 200k's again?

the most common way of removing the speed cut is to cut wire #53 (its a yellow/green wire).

you could look at the wires from your ecu to check if it has been cut.

a 'speed limiter' or 'speed cut' works by cutting the fuel supply. its has the similar effect to the driver lifting their foot off the pedal. your power will usually kck back in at round 170km/h.

if u want to know the speed ur reaching, drive with someone that has a speedo that goes further, ie, to 240 or watever and measure off them, (though their speedo will probably be inaccurate as well, but at least u get the idea).
