What are you going to do regarding the engine harness? The question is, IS the stagea plug the same as a R34 GTT?

If need be, use a R34 GTT harness

There is one for sale at the moment for $400

When my 2 Stagea's get here in approx 3 weeks, I will be able to compare my S1 and S2 side by side, and also have my R33 GTST to compare with if need be.

Also my importer mate has 2-off S2 Stagea Neo engines with "manual boxes" attached coming this week, so I will be comparing them aswell.

i Spoke to John at UAS yesterday, he can supply, fit and dyno tune a power fc onto a S2 rs four s stagea for $2200

Bozidar, who i work with for saikoogarage.com can do an installed an tuned pfc for 1800. You'd probably get change.

And he can sure tune em - he built a 180sx w/ SR20DET up that does 11.3 quarters.

the next thing of course is which specific model FC to get? as there are a few different ones available?

if anyone has a specific part number/model number would be a good thing to go on.

would make life easier when searching the net or shops for prices etc.

Thats really does suck, because i do believe well in my case anyway that it is a waste of time and money going manual, i would just be better off buying a 260rs which im not going to do as of yet anyway, or just going back to an S13/14/15 manual standard from factory.

If you want manual buy a car manual from factory, conversions are always a pain in the arse.... and that is from experience

but for the guys who bought their stags a while back when manuals were up around 30k self import and autos were 15 to 20 grand still a cheaper proposition to go manual via a conversion and also with the ratios of manuals to autos it far easier to find a car with everything you want and the colour you want for a good price than a similar manual

my 2c

I fully understand what you are saying, and i give props to anyone who has done or is going to convert to manual.

Basically my point that i was trying to make was its a shame they dont make auto pfc, as i dont intend on going manual, well in the short term anyway.

And im sure a lot less people would go manual if they new they could get pfc for auto.

    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
    • I take it that the knock retard is from bearings tapping a little tune? Thicker oil is a fragile bandaid. You need a much bigger oil cooler and probably the bigger pump being discussed.
    • Hi @Chupapy i had several leaks from coolant pipes being corroded, i also had one leak on back of the head onto transmission. For me that leak was from the turbo water line. Follow the line to the back of the head The hose and metal pipe had perished these are the best pics I took of it at the time
