Hoddle Street, Midnight last night - was anyone there?

Recommended Posts

Wasn't a 'drag' just some swift (ish) driving - I got the impression he gave it a squirt, but not everything - I in turn dind't change down, but just accellerated in 3rd... You'd know if it was me behind you - fog lights and angel-eyes only.

:D And it was an R33, so prolly not you.

haha

u should say that in the beggining

but after i got home...come out with my frens red wine 33...we head back city direction...thats why i am confused coz 32 and 33 was there at that nite~@@

oh well i was asleep so didnt know...but i will ask him:)

i was on hoddle on tursday night goin down to meet nark n them at that photshoot, and then back up again, around about 1ish... but i'm in a r32 GTS so i doubt i'd have dun anything fast lol

No - My angel eyes are OEM off a 5-series. Modified to work with high intensity LED's. I've had them since mid-last year.

And I won't be trading in my 325i on a Skyline for a while. the 325i is pretty fast, has all the luxuries inside, and looks nice... :D

What I will be doing is some work on the engine. My workshop indicate >450hp is easilly possible... :) Just need to find the $ to do it.

Angel Eyes:

Oh, okay... My brother got his since November '01... bought the kit off a guy in California...

Well, I'll be very interested to know what the workshop is doing to your car for that kinda horsepower in a 325... Unless you changed the whole unit or turbocharging it to the max... I still keep my E36,with an engine transplant... It's virtually trouble free for the last 9 years... but age has been catchingup real fast lately... Reliaboility is an issue...

Turbocharging it, however, is a different story... Good luck...

:P Mine so far is very reliable. Never had a problem, despite 'hooning' up a mountain with 10 other cars in 47c heat! :D

It's quite simple getting that much power apparently - a stroker kit will increase capacity to 3.4l (from the original 2.5) and with that you can get 350hp. From there plug on a supercharger to get an extra 100-150hp. ;) Sounds easy, and it is, but it's also expensive. :) Still, nothing short of a modified GTR would be as fast! :)

I am very concerned with reliability though. I'm going to see if anyone else does it first and see how their reliability is. :)

Too many wine red sky these days...

And I won't be draggin ppl off the hoddle st, saw too many times ppl got pulled over there, plus my recent $165 fine near my own house, plus petrol prices that goes over $1, I'm pretty much boosting less these days, unless necessary...

Putting a supercharger might give you more torque in low revs, but your car could be a petrol guzzler. Getting a turbo that's not too big could be a solution as they spool up faster. Some elec boost controller can also help spool up turbo faster, but not sure coz I never had one in my car. At least you can stay off boost if you're concern for your petrol. But european cars rarely uses turbo, normally use supercharger. Jap prefers turbo. Kinda of a trend I suppose.

My R33 can be considered almost 10 yrs now, but haven't got any problems so far since I had it last yr, except some rattles from the pwr window. Might need to get them tightened up when I have time.

Stroker kit... hmm... as I said, I've done the transplant which had a stroker kit in it... it's a 2.8 engine stroked to 3.1... mild, not wild...

Reliability is a problem now, after 9 years... but prior to this, it is a perfect car with virtually zero maintenance apart from normal servicing and all... But in this country, it's constantly 34 degree celcius throughout the day... maybe get down to around high-20s at night...

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
