looking for 5 people initially... if can be consumed then price will drop further

Garrett GT2871R is the rival to the HKS GT-RS... these are not released as T3 flange but one will be supplied...

the price - 1750 delivered anywhere in aus... first 5 get this special price and if theres 10+ even better discount!

whos with me?

if anyone wants specfics http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarre...1R_743347_2.htm although these are a rough guide... these are the first to be released by garrett to australia so i dont believe they are listed on the site... anyone wants clarification on whom is supplying this - http://www.horsepowerinabox.com/ genuine garrett distributor!

Simply question

Any idea if these are a easy bolt-up onto a RB25? I am relatively new to getting my head around all the figures when it comes to turbo's. So is it a T25 flange required for certain engines and T3 required for say an Rb20?? Pardon my ignorance!

But yeah am interested, will await a bit more info!

Ando

i wont be handling the cash... money directly deposited into horsepowerinabox's bank acc...

rb25 will be np as the adaptor will fit this

inregards to lines... i will confirm this (didnt think of it myself... if it causes a problem - the welder comes out!)

confirm shortly...

btw no timeframe - this offer will be open for atleast 4-6 weeks... im saving atm so..

It will require a custom dump due to the 2871 having the 5 bolt turbine outlet as opposed to the 6 bolt t3 type.

It will require the t2-t3 adapter as mentioned.

It will almost certainly require oil and water line changes, and the oil return has a different flange on a t2 turbo so thats an extra.

You will need a custom elbow off your compressor outlet to join into the rest of your piping.

That said, i have seen one of these turbos make 240 odd rwkw on an rb25.

Just noticed Just Jap doing this turbo for $1650...

Still interested in finding out how this would bolt up to Rb25...may give em a call & see what info can grab!

Ando

This turbo is a Garrett with no mention of an adapter... Hence would be more expensive than this group buy

  • 2 weeks later...
like everything from just jap... its not... its just china

horsepowerinabox - everyone knows they deal with genuine garrett!

You clearly dont know what you are talking about, I suggest having facts in hand before you make such statements.

Just Jap is selling the Garrett GT2871RS turbo, manufactured by Garrett, including a 12 month Garrett warranty.

And their website price is $1635.

    • thanks for the advice on the box... i was thinking the 6 speed was better for cruising on the highway but on closer inspection and comparison the Rb 5 speed box was not too different...  So the choice is going to be the RB25 box... if I can save up and find one at the right price
    • Thanks Matt, yes that's what i am aiming for. Just going to apply the right voltage and grounds to the dash connector. Hence my search for these pins... any chance you know if these pins are in the same spot as the ones on the S15 Dash connector? as mentioned above on page 8?
    • Yes, unfortunately that's the one. Signal was noisy to begin with; after driving once and looking back at the logs I saw pressure constantly swinging between 0-200psi, or staying at 0 randomly for a few seconds. There's a lot of good sensors that share the same look and feel, so don't presume they're all bad. I bought mine for 20$ off Amazon and I should have read the reviews prior, as it's clear they're junk.  I purchased a lowdollerr motorsports sensor.
