adam is also good

i just setup a wifi network for a mate and he lives 5 to 5.5 kms from the exchange his download frequency was only 2,500KB and upload was 600KB this on a ADSL2+ plan but on there webpage you can change your settings and try get better speeds which we got 3,600KB down and 1000KB up

Another vote for Internode here - always lightning quick and phone help desk is open until midnight every weeknight, and they are very helpful if you have any issues.

I think $79.95 for 40Gb on the 24,000/1,000 plan (waiting for DSL2 currently running at 1,500/256) is bloody awesome for the service level you get. Also there are shiteloads of sites where the data is unmetered - especially Internodes own games and file servers.

tell me more about the wifi Steve. As I am in Northgate and we have some povo piggy-back exchange which is optical and runs a rim, I am told I can never get ADSL2. We didn't get normal ADSL until like a year after people in Northfield and Oakden could get it. I am interested in a wireless solution.

Gonna vote for node here as well, as time goes on they always offer MORE for your money, never less. Every 6-12 months my limit increases and they offer more services. Awesome reliability, awesome speeds (living 100m from the exchange probably has something to do with this) and zero downtime.

sweet thanks for the info SuperMod :( .... Chops and I have spoken many times about why isps don't offer a 'up to 8,000k' service - it only makes sense! Even if I got 3k I would be happy! It's a bugger about the uploads only being up to 384k though - I want to upload more torrents to get more credits!

Speaking of torrents, I am going to start encoding some of the 'Formula D' episodes I have taped, and I will upload them in the near future and will post torrent details for those interested. FYI the show is about the SSCA American Formula D (drift) competition, and features the likes of Rhys Millen. Bloody awesome series!

I got Telstra Bigpond cable... its all that was available in my area at one time, but now I have to wait till end of contract to quit cause its not worth the hassle of them finding my foxtel isnt exactly legit in the way that it is set up not in the way it is paid for... (disconected and not working booster and splitter box).

Im going with node after bigpond cable... only good thing about cable is... i dont know. i think its more reliable.

-setting up programs for torrents and downloading p2p programs is much easier. (Stupid adsl static IPs give me the shits when my mates want me to route the bastards).

The good thing about cable is its downstream is/can be damn fast. More often than not it is quicker than dsl2 unless you are sitting right next door to the exchange.

But cables upstream sucks.. DSL2, I've came to love my 100kb/s upstream.

Internode only offers static ip's for their SOHO plans, I also believe they have or are about to implement a feature where the user can turn off static and run with a dynamic ip if they wish. The soho plans also offer annex-m for those who really love their upstream.

If you don't turn off your computer or connection you can have the same IP for several weeks anyway.

Yep, dynamic or static.. Its no real biggie. I personally would like a static but not worth the extra when services such as noip etc can essentially do the same thing.

    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
    • Hey all. I’m looking on replacing my speed sensor on my R33 GTR. Will the center differential need to be drained, and if so, the center diff uses ATF fluid D? I found information on the transmission, front diff and rear diff. Can’t find a for sure answer for the center diff. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
