what did u decide on doing Todd???

what did u decide on doing Todd???

I decided to wait because I just got the following off Sam Murray:

High-mount turbo manifold

Dump Pipe

Front Pipe

GTR Injectors

Plus depending how the discussion goes I am thinking about getting a china copy t3/t4 turbo with garret internals! (I am being told that they are crap and won't start to spool up until 5500 and wont hit full boost until 7000 - I find it hard to believe with a t3 exhaust housing and genuine garret internals)

So all I will need now is a z32 AMF and a retune (bummer it can't all be done before I get my remap by Dr Drift this weekend! But atleast it will only be a trip to melb and an hour on the dyno!) and I should be at my 200rwkw mark!

Well i can say is be very carefull mate and that it is actually "genuine" garret internals. :)

I cant see why someone would pay that money to put into a $50 turbo when they could of highflowed a Rb25 or similar.

I know of 2 people that have bought that same China copy and both ended in tears mate.

Hope its ridgy didge and works out for ya, if you change yuor mind and want to go with something else let me know ya budget and i'll see what i can find for ya :)

damn!! That looks sweet! Looks like you had to roll the guards for that though... How wide are those rims? Am interested though!

The wheels are 9.5 inches wide with a GTR style offset hence the reason that the guards had to be flared, with more normal wheels there shouldnt be a problem!

how low does that sit? and how much would you be looking at selling for?

I dunno but it sits low enough that you cant run your hand around the rear tyre with out it getting stuck!!

As for price?? how does half the price of a new set sound?? (I would have to find out how much that is BTW)

Todd

have you had a chat to Steve at Autobarn at all about whiteline springs???

TimmyB put them under his GTS-t and it made a HUGE difference.

I think they were about $140ish brand new so might be worth looking into???

That would be for a pair would it not?

That would be for a pair would it not?

rrp retail price is $169 a pair for whiteline (They are what I am getting through a mate) Also they are a good inch and a half higher than the springs on my car now. It wont look as good but my car is being set up for tarmac rallies so I cant afford to be that low anymore!!!

YEP, if u want me to get you a price let me know :O

If your thinking of doing drift days at all or even take your car on the track or for a hard drive then you would be mad to get anything lower in my opinion!!!

But thats just my opinion :(

Im pretty sure they retail for about the $150 mark but they are always on special and have a fair bit of room to move with the price.

Even better if you know someone hey Bunta :yucky:

My springs work well for drifting!!!! That and the Apexi damper adjustable shocks :P

And yeah when you know the QLD supplier the springs are very cheap!!!

But Catkicker if you want the slammed look all 4 springs are yours for $150 (The rears are not even a year old!!)

    • Yeah nice idea, you mean to suction it to the gauges? I hadn't thought of that.
    • A few suggestions: Do you have the option of retarding your exhaust cam gear to bring the power band over to the left? VCT would be turned off after you make peak torque, you see the power/torque will decay faster with it left on all the way to the limiter Once VCT is turned off, you'll find the motor will take a bit more timing being ramped in Send its mum, more boost! Of course, depends on your exhaust pressure.

    • I was back on the dyno again yesterday after completely revamping my methanol injection system. I was making 440kw at 19psi. Great, this is more then I was making last summer with my old meth system at that pressure, and I figured it would be smooth sailing up to 30+psi. We continued increasing from there and by 25psi, I had only hit 455kw. Dyno sadly lost utility power at this point and I left. We seemed to be on course to hit the same power wall as last summer (477kw@27psi). This is a built RB25 S1 stroked to a 2.8. Built and ported head with Kelford 272/262 cams. Precision 6466 Turbo. Tuner last year believed the power wall is a mix of RPM limitations (Hydro lifters/Limit set at 7600RPM) and fueling. With my new meth system, we're seeing zero knock now but it still won't go up.  What else can I do at this point? Here's my train of thought.  - It's clear from the dyno graph that I would easily make power to 8500+RPM but I'm limited to 7600RPM. I could risk increasing my limiter, but hydro lifters have me worried. What are my options here besides going NEO head or solid lifter conversion? I'm rocking a 1.05AR turbine on my 6466. Would dropping down to a .84 help shift that power down in anyway? - We're only seeing roughly a 30kw difference at the top end with VCT on or off. Is this normal? I want to confirm VCT is working properly. - Should I look into other cam options?  - Should I just keep increasing boost and see if she wakes up later on? I would expect to hit 600rwkw around 35psi with my 6466.
