i needed to get my motor rebuilt because my rings were leaking at 5 out of 6 pistons were in poor condition. shoud i just get standard pistons (740), rings(250) and big ends(200ish??) or just get some forgies instead?

mods while rebuilding: to4e turbo, high mount manifold, 38mm wastegate, walbro 500hp pump, fuel reg, front mount, oil catch can and hopefully a power fc

chasing the 250 mark

what do you guys recommend???

There has been a fair bit written on here about the different pistons available and the information is quite in depth.

I went for Wiseco's because they are reasonably priced, they have nice long skirts so they stay square in the bore, the skirts are also teflon coated from the factory to reduce friction and they are able to be used with quite close tolerances which makes for a quiet motor.

do not use venolia !

Arias r good, with good rings

CP are what i run.

The motor is very quiet, comes down to the machinist. I paid a bit more my third try...grrr don't ask. ADVAN had the bore's done and they were stamped and have warrenty...came out perfect. Should have spent the extra 1 time round. ADAVAN also sell CP for just under $1200 with rings clips and pins.
