That's awesome news.

I swear every workshop around Campbellfield/Fawkner is full of dodgy f**ks. You can just sense it when you're talking to them. You could probably turn up to any workshop in the area and they'd deserve a good beating for something or another. It'd be the first place I'd look if my car was stolen.

Was the white 33 actually their car or was it another stolen vehicle?

I guess the thieves won't be working for that workshop again eh? They must have been 15 with those sh1te skills.

Btw what side of town do you live on for your car to turn up there?

I think you owe your mate quite a few beers :P

The r33 was not registered for 2 years and the police were looking into who actualy owns it.

If you were to ask me for my opinion they are all in on it.

I mean look at the facts:

1 there was a "insane motor sport" business card with oily fingerprints found in my car by the police.

2 at the premises of "insane motor sport" my 5 grand tyres and rims were attached to an unregisterd r33 with no radiator in it, and minus a steering wheel so it wasnt going anywhere in a hurry.

3 if the r33 was not registered for 2 years (acording to the police) how did it get there and when?

Now remember my car had gone missing for only 7 days so what are the chances the white r33 has been there all the time????

So all the police have to do is ask how and when did the car get there. Remember they cant drive it unless they have a vic roads permit so they must have towed it either way they would have to show some paper work unless they paid cash to the toe and even then they would have to remembered there name being less than 7 days ago.

But If it was there for more than 7 days then they are all guilty.

Case closed.

But instead 1 person puts his hand up and claims it to be his car and they arrest him for possesion of stollen goods, and it wasnt even in his name??? allowing the rest of them to continue doing what they do best.

No wonder they call Australia the lucky country!

I live in preston so it wasnt far but dont worry im sure these guys travel.

And yes the beers havnt stopped flowing....

Happy days

Nick :)

I propose we organise a group buy with a difference :)

Group Buy on flights for all to Melbourne, then Group Buy on rental of a mini-bus and we'll all visit said workshop and the homes of the thieves.

After the tour / workout we could all go to Lygon St. for Pizza and Gelato :P

count me in!

Happy Days!!

Nick.

Anyone else ? :) I'll be closing this Group Buy 30 April 06 at midday. :);)

I've had a taste of catching a person who tried to steal my car and lets just say............ That's my kind of Extreme Sports !! :P

You are a very lucky man, with some good friends.

The lesson here, apart from having full comp insurance, a decent car alarm, etc, having something unique done to your car that makes it identifiable. In your case the carbon fibre wing.

The stupid theives managed to change the rego plates and the expensive wheels you put on, but forgot about the wing. What's the chances of your friends reconising your car with no wing, different wheels and rego? It's just another white R32 GTR. Thank god it's not gun metal grey!

It's strange the theives didn't start the rebirth process staight away and keep it behind closed doors until finished but rather they drove it around for a few days, yeah you're very lucky.

Good work, good work guys. Congrat to you mate, anychance if we can have this STICKY in Victoria Section?

Thankyou, and yes i have no problem with sticking in it the victorian section. The more people that realise how easy it is to get there car stolen the better.

PM sent.

Nick

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
