Hey

As most of you have heard - I broke my baby on the cruise... now the front end is completly f*ucked I thought this leaves me some room to change some things for the better.

What do you guys think of sileighty conversions? I think they look pretty good if you have a mean looking front body kit.

Is it a matter of just getting silvia side panels, bonnet and nose cone? Or would it be easier to stick with the 180?

Also where do I get car panel parts from? Just a jap wreck place? Can anyone recommend?

don't ya need a whole front cut?

not for the engine though

but for the chassis?

180 front looks a bit more narrow

silvia bit wider

so silvia panels will be meant for silvia chassis?

correct me if i am wrong?

adrian :D

Is it hard to do? Is it just a matter of replacing the front panels?

I'm too cluey on silvias - what does a s14 front look like in comparison to an s15? Does someone have a website I can look at?

Rev - I agree - sil80's look very gay if not done right. I have seen some awesome ones in magazines - they have to have a mean looking front end. If you just chuck a silvia front on it - it looks crap

Sneeza,

I might be able to get panels for you, which ever way you decide to go. I like the Sil80's. C-red might be worth calling, cause they have brought some in previously and might be able to tell you what's involved.

BWAHHAHAHAHA!!! "bun route?" is THAT like the "tunnel of love thing" heheh

How hard is that pearl paint to re-spray? is it a two part job to a normal white undercoat or what ?

Can you put a pearl on a white car (ie mine) ? Easy stuff?

sorry, a bit OT.

I don't see insurance having a prob with it. I am not going through insurance for this bingle anyway.

I am reading on (god help me) silvias aust - they have an article about conversions. The s14 and the RPS13 (my car) were built along side each other - so its a matter of changing the headlight wiring and then bolt the nose cone on... and the panels. they reckon it is pretty easy

Kym,

I had to go and quickly change all my bunrout's into burnout's, don't want them thinking I'm gay:p

Sneeza,

If it's just panels then that should be easy. We can source some parts then help fit it for you, and maybe talk Works Auto into spraying it cheap to.

I just spoke to Geoff at C-red - REALLY nice guy. He reckons $1000 - $1200 for a sileighty conversion.... that's pretty good I thought!!! He said its just replacing all front panels and wiring. He also said respray the front for about $600.... He said he has a 180sx nose cone ($300) and bonnet ($500) if I want to stay with the 180. Are these good prices???

Thank paul for putting me onto them !

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
