Heya all,

Was just having a few service items done at Northshore Prestige today and saw they had the M35 Stagea waiting for some last minute compliance work. I'm guessing it's the first in Australia... ???

Took some photos so you could all check it out. Looks like they'll be going through a few of these.

A bit like this one.

Luv the two way boot.

Dont know about the two tone dash though.

Yeah seen that one a couple of months ago, Ernie (Nizmo Motorsports) has it and can comply them.

I love the m35, it just needs a half decent body kit to finish it off!

I looked at these before buying my (the wifes) series 2, but decided not to due to 1) only in auto, and 2) engine change to the VQ25DET - and I preferred to stay with the tried and trusted RB25DET NEO. Instead I got the latest series 2 S I could find, which was only a few months before they stopped making them..

i dunno guys the new shape looks more like a volvo than the old ones and the interior does nothing for me at all if anything i think the took a step backwards just dont seem to have the air and style of the rs4sorry guys just my 2 cents worth ....mike..........

1) How much does it weigh?

2) What is the biggest engine it has?

3) Does it come in manual?

4) It is 4wd?

5) How much is it?

6) Am I annoying you guys?

1) The heaviest AR-X Four version weighs 1710kg. Goes down from there to 1550kg for the RWD 2.5L 250RS.

2) It was 3.0L till 2004 when the 3.5L VQ35DE was introduced to the Stagea (finally).

3) No! No manual for you Stagea people! It's a shopping/family car! If you think the VQ35DE is a 'Skyline/Fairlady Z' engine, then think again! It's also in the ElGrand people mover van... talk about versatile.

4) Yes, 4WD is offered for all capacities (2.5, 3.0 and 3.5) in varying trim levels.

5) New they're between $30,000 and $40,000 in Japan.

6) Only if you get me to answer all these questions then *don't* get an M35

An old colleague of mine in Japan had an M35, and while it was only the 2.5L 250RX, he had the 'AXIS' M35 kit and wheels on it (AXIS is one of Nissans optional parts divisions, as is 'Own') and it looked the goods. Pity it was AT.

I'm never going to get one. It's been a pain in the butt converting my S1 to manual, no way i'd try and do it on the V6. also they got rid of the frameless windwos, whats the go with that? that was the main reason i got one over an R34 4door. too bad nissan, you could have done much better...

Yeah ^^^ I've always thought the frameless doors are what set alot of Japanese sedans and the Stagea apart. The old Accord Aerodeck had frameless doors too I think? Makes all the difference.

To the best of my knowledge, no S2 stagea autechs were made?

I mean, ive seen some with RB26's and Autech kits, but i didnt think Autech actually made anything 98+ (aka, s1)

I think you've got a case of 'out of sight, out of mind'... S2's were made, but I've only ever seen them in pics.

The S1/2's were made between 08/1997 and 09/2001

    • Pads for R32 GTS-t, R32 GT-R non V-Spec (Sumitomo), R33 GTS-t and R34 GT-t are all interchangeable. R34 GT uses a 2x piston caliper, hence it didn't fit.
    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
