Guest rcd
Is there anyone in Perth that has these guage conversion and do they require bulb changes as well. I know there are some dealers in the east that sell them. Ric Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/11161-luminous-guages/ Share on other sites
EPOCH
I dont think luminous gauges have bulbs. I thought they have wires you attach to a power source and it makes the face of the gauge to make it luminous. -phil (not really sure tho just thoguht it up) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/11161-luminous-guages/#findComment-185705 Share on other sites
APA
no they don't require bulb changes i don't think anyone else in perth really does them anymore! i was gonna get em talked to the guys at xspeed they said it's too much of a hassle and they stuff up sumtimes! adrian Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/11161-luminous-guages/#findComment-185708 Share on other sites
Guest rcd
If they are prone to failure, I think I'd better forget it. Drove a Chrysler in Canada that had them as do most Chryslers and they look pretty impressive Thanx Ric Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/11161-luminous-guages/#findComment-185709 Share on other sites
Guest KILLER-T
I dont see what the problem is with them fitting them is easy and they look great if you want a set you can get them from unique auto's web site Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/11161-luminous-guages/#findComment-185794 Share on other sites
R34
I fitted a set to my brother in laws 33. They are tricky to fit and a bit nerve racking to get the needles off but they are amazing Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/11161-luminous-guages/#findComment-185849 Share on other sites
Guest rcd
Hey Killer-T, Is that your "line", the black one half way down the page? Neat looking car. I noticed it has a large intercooler behind the front bar without having the large open area in the front. Does it perform ok like that? Also checked out the Unique Autos page but all that came up was a page with cars for sale and could not get onto their home page. ix9
ww.autojoy.com.au sold them for $300 IIRC a while back, fit them yourself, piss easy. just remember to mark your needles before you take them off, coz its a pain to recalibrate speed/rev without a 3rd party device (ie RSM) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/11161-luminous-guages/#findComment-186044 Share on other sites
GTS-t VSPEC
There are still some luminous Apexi gauges available, both from Xspeed and Works Auto, these are additional gauges and don't cover the proper instruments like you want, but it might be the next best thing. The car's got a new front bar now and it looks fantastic, I would also suspect there is heaps more air flow. JH32
The Commodore Car Club is getting some indiglow dials made up at the moment by a company here in Australia. They also did a group buy for the 300zx. I'll see if I can find a link. Guest KILLER-T
Yes thats my beast i have put a 400r front on it now it looks ok but i would still like just a gtr front bar. But i cant find one thats a good fit on my car and i didnt notice any more power with the airflow across the cooler with the new front bar not that i was expecting any. PS anything that you see on the unique auto sport site you can order it from worx auto in wangarra that way you dont have to pay for it untill it gets here :uh-huh: http://www.uniqueautosports.com.au/ Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/11161-luminous-guages/#findComment-186948 Share on other sites

Nizmo
hmmm a mate of mine fitted one to a skyline if he can do it - it cant be too hard haha i wouldnt mind one being fitted too my babey soon but its a cosmetic thing - i think i get a little too wrapped up in cosmetic things instead of power things. Anyway its a bit of fiddling about but if u know basically what your doing it shouldnt be too hard. Guest rcd
At this stage I'm probably content to just do a few cosmetic things to the "line" other than a 3" system and pod. Making these things go balistic is just too expensive. I think the shops are really ripping people off with the cost of most items. I guess if people are prepared to pay the outrageous prices then they will keep their prices high.
