Hi guys . for most of the questions . they'be been answered in my original thread in WA section.

for the guys who ask is it able to get hid for which car. the answer is yes. as long as it is a car . i can get the bulbs for ya.

for a decent installation of hid. u need a projector lens and selfwash system. that'll cost u heaps.

but if u adjust well , they won't blind other cars.

Im very interested in a lowbeam set for R33.

I'm ocrrect in saying they are H1, yeah?

Edit: Can you possibly put up a colour spectrum for different temperatures for these specific bulbs please?

As far as ive seen with anyone selling HID's everyone rates them in color rather than luminence.

Get me some figures of luminance over halogens and i might be in. I want something that is brighter, not whiter. Ive used "white" halogen globes before and though things are "clearer" the white light was just simply not good enough to create good contrasts.

for the colour pics . u can see this link

http://www.yoshidashouten.com.au/HIDdescription.htm

got compare with normal lights..

from phillips report 4200k's luminence is about 3000, 2500hrs

6000k's luminence is about 2500, 2000hrs

the white halogens looks white. yes . if u put a hid besides it. u'll see the difference.

also got golden colour bulbs for fog lamps . very nice pure golden colour. but don't think any usefull in au..

3000k golden hid luminence 3000

good for bad weather , suit northern countries like us. but in good weather they are not as good as 4500-6000k because the low contrast.

4100k~4300k Whitish yellow luminence 3200

most oringinal car use this range as they equals the sun light in 2-5 pm

6000k white luminence is unknowen.

looks nice in colour, but the brightness is not as good as low k s

but no any problems in oz coz we don't have heavy fog or ...haha snow...

higher than 6000k just for nice colour still much brighter than normal halogen but not that much

and for the H4 hi/low. there are 3 types.

1. 2 bulbs. needs 4 ballasts and 4 bulbs for a pair of lights. but they cost too much and still can't be changed instantly. if u driving on the hill at 60km/hr and ur lights shut for 1 sec, u'll die. and also the two bulbs are not in the same line so the focusing of the lights won't be the same.

2, 1 bulb, use a small motor driving the bulb moving up n down. that's better

3 same thing just the motor drives the shield instead of the bulb it self.

btw any thing more than 6000k won't be genuine phillips or Osram product.

ive bought a few sets off Ben now and i have to say my latest set of 5000K are by far my favourite. They produce a pure white coulour where as my 6000k kit had a blue tinge to it.

Can honestly say for the price of these kit's you cant go wrong, plus Ben's after sales support is excellent!

Buy up people!!

I want to know:

I got R33, will there need to be for any adjustments cos the R33 headlights are reflectors. not projectors. I keep hearing that they need to be adjusted (for a price) so as not to blind oncomming drivers...

I dont want to buy the HID and then have to spend another 200 bucks to adjust the lights for my car...

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
    • My return flow is custom and puts the return behind the reo, instead of at the bottom. All my core is in the air flow, rather than losing some of it up behind the reo. I realise that the core really acts more as a spiky heatsink than as a constant rate heat exchanger, and that therefore size is important.... but mine fits everything I needed and wanted without having to cut anything, and that's worth something too. And there won't be a hot patch of core up behind the reo after every hit, releasing heat back into the intake air.
    • There is a really fun solution to this problem, buy a Haltech (or ECU of your choice) and put the MAF in the bin.  I'm assuming your going to want more power in future, so you'll need to get the ECU at some stage. I'd put the new MAF money towards the new ECU.
