Gearbox/clutch

My MR30 has what seems to be a noist thrust bearing, when I depress the clutch pedal the noise disappears but is quite noticeable when idling and in neutral.

Have also noticed the same noise when I take off in first and move to second and less noticeable as I move through the gears.

Would this be the same problem or is this something else in the gearbox?

Is it difficult to replace a thrust bearing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If the noise goes away when you rest your foot (slight pressure) on the clutch pedal it's the thrust bearing.

The box will have to come out to replace it as the bearing sits on the input shaft of the gearbox.

yeah the noise does go away but with more than just slight pressure, the pedal has to be depressed to at least take up, which makes me wonder if it is something else more sinister in the gearbox.

A noise form the gearbox is also apparent on take off and through to about third, it sounds like the same noise but I cant be sure.
