I think their will be quite afew good cars there. Nothing else is open except servo's and WSID so all the motor heads will be out there with their wheelie bars removed and swapped over to street tyres :P

i couldnt get a helmet in time so i spectated. I came at night and saw a white skyline doing 11s and 12s, it was awe inspiring.

The announcers hated imports lol and shook his head when he saw those times.

I thought the burnouts sessions were a waste of time, a big Meh from me when a couple of commo engines blew.

But yeah I found it a bit disappointing, it seems like one big bogan fest. The jap cars need to represent more. I liked the white skyline and the red supra though!

Easily the best burnouts WSID has ever seen for an "off-street meet". How can you go past Monique doing a burnout in her bf's VP, I have trouble just standing still next to her out the back in the pits let alone her throwing a car around on the burnout pad :bunny:

I thought the burnout sessions (and the whole day actually) were pretty damm good considering it's was only meant to be a 'street meet'.

Monique's burnout was a good effort, but definately not the best of the day by a long shot though...

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't get it why everyone whinges about V8's or imports racing depending on which side of the fence you sit. I actually enjoy seeing both types of cars racing side by side...I think there should be more of it personally and going by the half decent crowd size (more than most sport compact meets I've been to), I'm guessing I'm not the only one...

The only dissapointing part of the day was the fact that a lot of the fast cars didn't bother entering the rebel bracket shootout at the end of the day. I thought the lure of some prizemoney would have drawn a few more cars out...maybe next time. Still a pretty good day overall in my books.

Oil was DEFINITELY on the track BEFORE Shane raced. As witnessed by the total lack of oil under his car and the fact that he went straight as a die on the next pass.

Didn't stop the WSID officials pricking it out in a big way though

There weren't many cameras pointed at you Shane. Our jaws were all on the floor!

yeah, unfortunately thats what happened to my camera man. he dropped the camera when i was 45 degrees to the right wall.

no one seemed to actually get many pics of the car all weekend. although i had lots of verbal praise which was good.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
