Rb25det Engines? What Is The Difference Between Them.....

hey guys n gals. I have a mate who wants to know the difference between a RB25DET series 1 motor compared to a series 2 motor??

There is no separate "black box" igniter pack on series II motor.

Turbo - slight difference, no performance difference however

ECU - probably a very minor adjustment

essentially they are the same, i think there are a few other minor differences.

so to tell the differnce between the 2, the easiest way is to tell by the coil packs then hey.. why do they have no seperate "black box" bit on the series 2?? is there any gain for it???

The S2 has its igniters built in to coils so thats why theres no exturnal one.

Very late R33s also have R34 style CAS.

thanks guys. il let my mate know. he was looking at a set of coils packs to buy but wasnt sure if there was a difference or not. and when he asked me i wasnt sure either, even though i had read sumwhere that there was a difference i didnt know what the diff was. but now i know, u learn sumthing new everyday.
