hey guys, drivin home today in the trusty bunky commodore from the drift wa event and had a mate in a gtr following behind and i got let through as the cops were waiting about 3 corners from the entrance and checking over cars. my mate come through slow as and they pulled him and stickered him, and proceeded to pull over alot of the imports leaving the event.

i think thats pretty disgusting from the wa police. all the owners supporting the off road drift events and they get stuffed around by cops with nuthin better to do. they wonder why people dont re-attend these events knowing the possibility of a yellow sticker when u leave.

shame on the police and they cant see why we dont think much of em :domokun:

i bet they dont sit there after the v8 supercar events and do the same

I left at about 4 and there was a group of cars going nuts at the new housing area at pinjar-neves road so id say you can thank them or the cops turning up.

Import laws are crazy now anyway,we had 2 EVOs fail pit inspections at the welshpool pits in 3 weeks for their stock bonnets,Cant have holes in your bonnet they said. Was up to us to prove these bonnets are factory.

i didnt see any police when i left . they are still bastards though.

kermit

yer this was about 4:30pm or so we seen em, have moved on about 6ish when we went back past, but still they sure do give people the shits when people just go to see abit of off street legal racing and end up costing them a day off work to goto pits and what ever other costs are for the sticker.

illegal drags they should be stickering people and harassing but legal events is pathetic.

on the way home from the drift comp... white HR31 GTS coupe, VERY bent on whitfords ave bridge, freeway exit heading south. [1BDU ***] plates... what happened there? Hope everyone is ok. [HYPER31] and other cars parked on the side of the road... cops had blocked the whole road off around the accident.

thats what i saw was whitfords not hepburn

a 4 wheeldrive cleaned themup >_<

Yah I was passenger in the white coupe - young girl in an opposite lock landie ran red light and spun us 360

We're fine but she went on to clean up another 2 cars including an old grandma who was pretty shaken up

The driver of 4wd was strechered out and they wouldnt let us near her :domokun:

and they pick on us for driving imported/ modified cars yet they let anyone drive anything else that they cant control and look what happens a i know i will feel safer with my kids behind the wheel of a skyline than in a land barge 4 wheel drive 4 wheel drives are built for a purpoe (eg not as an oversied shoppin trolley /kid carriers for dropping kids off at school)

mmm well personally not being bias or what but when do you ever see a toyota/nissan/subaru or ne other japanese car wrapped around the tree when you watch the news and they say "we're cracking down on high performance cars" i mean you would only see fords and commodores wrapped around treess...well thats my opinion but yea cops these days are getting more pathetic last night at metroz goin home as designated driver hahah so much boose bust everywhere and cops all over city man its like prisoN! hahah

On another fantastic note they now plan to make the hoon law stronger by impounding cars for 1 month instead of the current 2 days, which will only bring a lot more attention to the actual enthusiasts that drive cars like ours.

mmm guess thats true aye N I B....i danno the laws are like getting stronger by the day hahah cops are everywhere now .... its like THERES A SKYLINE CHASE IT DOWN CHECK IT OUT AND YELLOW IT...so i guess just don't rice up ya cars too much aye i mean u know :(

unfortunatly its a fact of life now..

they do the same at some drag events at the plex and other such car related things..

just something everyone has to get used to and stop having whinges about..

yeah i've never been pulled over in my passage, despite obvious large front mount and loud exhaust, they never look twice, drive mates s13 or our r32 around though, and get lots of attention

it's pretty f**ked up

Did any of you see the front cover of the west asutralia paper a few weeks back. They spend 6 hours arresting a guy who was holding up a sign warning of a speed camera ahead. The cops say they are just trying to slow people down, but that guy they arrested was slowing people down much better and got arrested. In the end they charged him with something like disrupting the flow of traffic. Pathetic.

Also, I heard on the radio a couple of days ago that they want to get another 4 multanova's for perth (perth already has 12 out of 14 in the state), even though over 50% of the deaths this year have been on country roads.

    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around without a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
    • Yep, this bit another local owner. I caught it before putting the transmission back into the car, what I noticed was the pressure plate fingers weren't flat and even. It's more obvious with the pull style clutch because the throwout bearing ring was visibly not flat once everything is put together. Nismo should really update their instructions to call out this specific detail. I'm not even sure the clutch as-shipped orients everything properly.
