With turbo engines the oil is "abused" more, as it is used as a cooling fluid, thus is subjected to greater heat, which can break down the oil faster.

I have never owned a new turbo car so i have never seen the owners manual, but i would be extremely surprised is any manufacturer would recommend service intervals of less than 10,000km. At the end of the day they are only concerned about the car lasting for the duration of the "manufacturer's warrenty".

I get mine serviced at every 10,000kms but i dont have any mods or anything. If i had some mods i'd get it serviced at every 5,000km.

Theres a decal under the bonnet that tells u most things like when u should change the air filter, oil and filter, fuel filter and what the gap size in the spark plugs should be.

I'm not saying you should do exactly what it says but use it as a guide line

Well i check my oil regulary, and will stick with 10,000 service intervals (that includes oil filter) and looking at the oil in there at the moment been in about 4000 k's and looks not to bad to me. Definietly not like new but not like soot either.

I am constantly amazed that people think 10-15 year old cars have done less then 100,000 km.

Dont you mean less than 30,000 ? Plenty 10 yo cars in Japan with less than 100,000 but they dont come here, we mostly get higher k's cars here .

yeah plenty with their Speedo’s wound back anyway.

Im sure truely by now if you have/are going to import a car with low kms you would suspect that its speedo's might have been tampered with. Mostly people just turn a blindeye or ignore the speedo's readings. There are other ways to check the condition of the car like the condition of its interior (low kms+worn seats, steering wheel etc = speedo's been tampared with). You can also check the engine of the car (find a sticker where it state when the timing belt has been changed etc). Like most people have said in the above posts its not that hard to change electronic odometers.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
