Ok.. its getting close..

Is anybody going to be at station peer around 8pm? If so i'll go down there and meet on the way to calder.. otherwise I will just go straight to calder and call somebody from there and see whether i can meet up with ppl.

I'd go earlier, but I don't get home till 6pm or so anyway.

I'm sure there could be a possible meet afterwards and/or cruise for those that can't/don't want to go to calder... would be around 11pm.

Where was everybody??!

Made it to Station Peer (no.3 basically where the Able Tasman was) about 7:30-7-45pm and there was nobody other skylines! Waited around and had a bit of a look, but still no skylines. Horus turned up, and we had a bit of a drink and things. Phat32 turned up at around 8:30pm and then Myself, phat32, and Horus cruised to calder.

Got to calder about 9 (bit late!), saw a bunch of cars run. Met Hotsky and ?? (are your mates on here?). Mostly supercharged cortinas, toranas, and the like.. although a couple of R33 GTR run 11's. Went to the city, lost phat32 due to parking issues (kinda busy being GP weekend) and ended up at Pug Mahones, where vickii met us bit later.. So we stayed there till 2 after a few drinks and went home.

Overall pretty good night.. no major dramas... although i cracked the hell outta my front bar at calder (time for a bit of a fibreglass repair jobby) when the ground jumped out at me.

I think next time we just need to co-ordinate exact times and things so people can meet up a bit better and have a more defined plan.

nah my mates arent on here at all, one guy bruce(the more talkative one about carshehe) drives a torana, and the other cuy clinton just drives me nuts(no car)

was a pretty good night at the track(best part was meeting a few peeps) didnt catch up with others in city aftrer, phat32 was gonna ring me, but i was 3/4 home when i got a surprise call from MILK lol oh well its all good

yeah..none of the skylines that I saw seemed to be flat shifting.. the changes were sloppy and visible.

Next one is 17th - If my car is running decent again by then might take it down the strip and see how much I can **** up a launch.. hehe

There were quite a few that got under the 10's but most were pretty serious drag-only cars.

il b etheer with u if ur taking it on the 17th

i wanna try break 13's with a stock car.. no boost either.. so friken close last time

speaking of stuffing take offs.. haha cant beat me. i got a 17.9 and stalked it.. ahhaha .. very first time i lined up. i was against a big V8 with no exhaust and shit my elf when he took offf ahhh welll

hopefully i can beat 14.015 and break 13's then il be happy

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
