D1 Racer Grand Prix is a Drift Racing Simulation with real car physics, actual track(s) and actual d1 drift cars. It is a mod of the car simulation game 'Racer'.

UPDATE: Game is even less buggy now with the following package: Racer v0.5.3b2 + D1RDGP v1.2 + New Car Low-Res Textures which should give everyone better FPS and be more stable.

Adding More Tracks and Cars:

To Add a track, copy or unzip the folder into:

C:\Games\d1\data racks so that you would have a C:\Games\d1\data racks\[NAMEOFTRACK] folder.

To Add a Car, copy or unzip the folder into:

C:\Games\d1\data\cars so that you would have a C:\Games\d1\data\cars\[NAMEOFCAR] folder

Then just start up the game and its been added :>

D1 Tips:

* Try Yuuki Izumida's 350Z, imo it appears to handle the easiest, and use a gamepad with analog stick smile.gif

* Don't crash into other car's (Multiplayer) else game might hang/crash. (tested by Madaz doesnt crash my game but other things do :D )

??PROBLEMS??

Bug Fix (I Found this last nite when playing the game):

If you have issues playing the game... or people joining your multi-player game, see if your CPU is a HyperThread Pentium 4 (2 CPU kinda).

If it is then:

* Run racer.exe

* Once D1 game has loaded, press [CTRL] [ALT] [DEL]

* Task Manager Pops up, in Processes tab, select racer.exe

* Right click on it, click 'Set Affinity'

* Uncheck CPU 1 (thus leaving only CPU 0 checked)

* Close Task Manager

* Play D1/Racer

This works for a lot of games... increases performance amazingly.

Also theirs a tool you can use which writes to the exe to auto use CPU 0. But too much hassle tongue.gif

Firewalls: Port Forward/Allow 25000 & 26000 TCP/UDP i think for multiplayer.

Handy Controls: SHIFT+R (Reset Car Position) & 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 for camera views... Other Controls... Check Racer Official Website...

Corrupt Zip File: The file size should be about 42MB. If you download a file smaller than this, it has been corrupted. Use a download manager and re-download the file to fix this problem.

Can't Connect Through My Port:

Do the "bug fixes" as mentioned above. If the error is occuring in a file with a name similar to this "C:\DOCUME~1\Ben\LOCALS~1\Tempð2_appcompat.txt", then make sure that you have extracted all files, and are not running it from the ZIP archive. Also try disbaling Anti-virus software - especailly the troublesome ones such as McAffee and Norton.

oh for sum reason it wont play in my windows media but played ok in Nero showtime and car wasnt allways in show for render not sure wot happened there i think it will play in anything other than Windowes Media Player

yea i had the game ages ago also but the D1 drift mod makes it better

after uve done sum driveing that u want to record press F2 to bring up replay controls

press the red record circle to save ur replay incase it crashses

pressing the scissors does in and out (to start and stop)

or u can just record the hole lot and edit it in a video editor after

if ur still with me upto here u press the movie icon @ the end it will bring up a box asking for Hz and in there it allready has 15 this relates to ur FPS so put in @ least 29

then choose the decoder im still trialing wot is best

    • I mean it's a bit late to say "This won't have any tangible effect and it is not worth spending more than about three seconds on it, please just enjoy the car" But I said it anyway. Does the pod actually get any airflow in that position behind a bumper like that?
    • Hey guys - apologies for digging this up. Has this website been shutdown or is the outage temporary?
    • So, went shopping at Just Jap for things that might work for the intake  After some trial fitting there I ended up with a 3" x 45° silicone bend, a 3" x 300mm alloy straight, and a humped joiner, some minor trimming will be required to shorten some of the stuff, but nothing that is beyond my "ham fisted" skills The guy at Just Jap was most helpful as we had all sorts of joiners,  bends and stuff out trial fitting  Laying it out above the stuff in there it seems everything will fit nicely, and looking at it, it is probably the way I should have been looking at doing it from the beginning, probably..... In the end it is a front bar off job anyway to remove the original stuff behind the front bar that is taking up the required realestate needed, so maybe a Thursday or Friday job And because I'm a hopeless consumer, I grabbed some new steel wheel nuts, the current ones are a spline drive type with a "security" socket, that somehow someone keeps misplacing, the new ones are a basic black steel 17mm hex socket In other news: I just did my "final" tax return, I am now officially a old retired veteran pensioner, and I'm milking the system for all it's worth,  life is good
    • I hadn't thought about the variable power steering assist. Presumably, it will always be the same level of assist as you get in an S14. The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!  
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
