More than likely not

But in theory it should due to some of the air running back into the engine and not getting dumped into the atmosphere?

Ill play with this and get back. This whole "pshhht sick uleh" shit is bit annoying considering the car is not as reliable as its with a stock bov.

GFB hybrid was installed on my car for years, no issues with stalling from it, full atmo was swapped and i had that issue.. it will be better than a full atmo.

So no stalling at all on 50 50? Cos I been driving with it for a few days now and it stalled completely once when I was idling... and then also had these small "set backs" like when I pushed the throttle and it just stalled for half a sec then let go and was fine again... this really pisses me off.

no stalling at all related to the 50,50 setup i had.

each car is different though, they are worse than people sometimes lol

thanks dude... ill give it a go this week.

PS love the pod suction noise and flutter... did u lose any of that? how did she sound on 50 50?

i've got a stealthfx .. on about 60/40 cos i don't want it too loud .. i have no stalling issues whatsoever . .even if i put in the clutch and let the revs fall.

if you are getting stalling, adjust the spring tension by twisting the cap only. that will make the bov close sooner and should get rid of your stalling issues.

Was it the stealth fx BOV??

I so want that bov.. Best soundin one i have heard..

What does your sounds like on just plumback??

no its GFB Hybrid... u can have 50 atmo 50 plumback setting.

my mate has Stealth FX on his s15... it sounds the best like u said... the flutter down low and awesome water splash when giving it!

well the flutter on a skyline is compressor surge not such a good thing to have if you value the life of the turbo. the 50/50 set up should be fine.

yeah its the BOV fluttering and it says that its OK for flutter at low RPM in the booklet.

at high rpm it whistles!

also look at VL turbos... they have no bov... and their turbos seemed to last for years.

I still get a flutter (gfb hybrid on 50/50) noise on low boost but thats coming from the bov it self as piston slides up and down.

When i took the bov off it fluttered in a different way.

u just connect the hose to the plumback trumpet right and vent the atmo plug yeh?

stealth_skyline_feature_sml.jpg

one pointing towrds you and is round, put hose over that to the std plumb back piping..

the other is a trumpet and you leave it alone.

just have to swivel the bov on the adapter so its in the right position..

edit : use hose clamps

    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
    • Bloody apprentices! 🙄
    • Not sure yet.  Was considering speedtek because it was rated to 800hp, but when I did some research about him I don't think I will go for that🤣 So maybe giken gear set, but I'm afraid it won't be strong enough🙄
    • Keeping in mind that for most people this is a week to month long job!
    • Its also worth mentioning that 30 years after it left the factory and god knows how many missed oil changes since, there is every possibility that one or more lifters are ticking because they are sticky/gummed up. To resolve that you need to pull the cams then pull each lifter, disassemble, clean, reassemble, soak in oil and re-install, and they should come up good as new.
