You could try the Collie Motorplex. Last Saturday there was approximately every S13 ever built going around practicing drifting. I think it was the Drift WA guys or similar. Try contacting Jay Hewson at [email protected] for details of the nearest club day.

Just bring some spare tyres.....

drift bible is a good starting point, also watching alot of option, hot version, B.M etc helps...

hmm you dont really need shitty tyres to drift... but i guess its up to what ur style is like. some drifters like grippy tyres others they can just grab some shitty tyres and it will be fine for them

so what about complete noobs?

i mean, guys thatll spin out at ever corner? is htere an event for them?

once a month drifting is crap, youll never learn how to do it properly.

i think fortnightly would be better,

steve

well is better than nothing... drifting is only starting in wa and we as perforance car owners need to support it 100% or else it will never get any better than it is...

and i once a month is alot :O its not like u get 4 laps and thats it. i remember the last time i went i got heaps of turns i lost count...

and yes you do learn how to do it properly :ban: its all trail and error people dont really mind if u spin out everyturn but you soon learn what makes you spin and what doesnt make you spin :D

if your worried ur going to spin, just take it easy and build up ur skill slowly :)

My 0.02 - dont use crap tyres, cos if you do you wont have decent traction and will spin out heaps - WASCC is a high speed track through the front section, so traction is important.

Get a good wheel alignment, there is nothing more frustrating than have a poor wheel alignment and the car just wont handle properly.

If you make sure the car is set up reasonably well beforehand, then you can have a great time, even if it is only once a month.

If the car isnt handling right, you just wasted your only opportunity for the month to thrash, and that can really piss you off (it does me)

the sessions once a month, whilst not frequent enough for my liking, is better than nothing at all

If you are new to it, dont be scared to give it a go. Its great fun and they have newbies lanes and experienced lanes for staging. You shouldnt fear spinning out - its a practice and thats what people do, both beginners and more experienced. If anything, often the more experienced may spin out more, cos they are pushing their limits harder :mrt:

just do it :mrt:

i reckon it will be a lot more fun if the surface was wet, i just did a a safe driving coarse today in the wet and going around the coarse in the wet is quite fun. work at dominos so this was for free for me yayyy. also had a hot lap with CRAIG LOWNDES going full out. quite fun, what do yous think, drifting in the wet or dry?

A lot easier to lose it as well, and it's much slower. The first drift comp was wet & when people lost it they spun out from the wet surface, the last one was dry & when they lost it it was because of going too hard

Much better in the dry, half the fun is seeing the smoke produced!!!

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
