Hey guys

My new bus has just arrived complied and ready to go, and should be on the road by this wednesday - just what Pawley and I needed after many backbreaking moments trying to get the baby in and out of the GTR.

A special thanks to Pawley for all his help and for washing it for me for the last 6 hours!

Mel

Pretty fancy boonga there, is it a turbo? What the typical price range for that year?

RB26DET engine

Have seen 96 RS4 models in adelaide for between 18-20k, but ours was imported.

so is it like the Autech model cause standard they come out with RB25det and theres also like a RSR26 model so i belive

on further looking its the Stagea 260RS

I think she just done a typo..

The Autech is the 260RS, no other Stagea's came with the rb26.

Went through regency this morning, no probs... except i forgot to take the 'owners manual' with the car.

"I'll let it go this time".... phew!

I have also spent over 100km in the car today, and must say it is a dream to drive. Quiet, silky smooth throttle, yet goes like a skun cat.

Worst part so far: $50 = 1/2 tank of fuel... sign of the times though.

Mate - mine (Stagea, yes, exactly like your photo, as you well know!) had the petrol usage problem for the first few months, I reckon you'll need to replace the oxygen sensor. Just by putting in a new one (they only last for around 40000kms) gave me an extra 120kms per tank of fuel.

Now, whats this about a owners manual? Thats simple got to be crap as far as I know - like my car didnt come with an owners manual! Id like Regency to try to make me contact the Japan owner and have them send it to me! As if!! LOL - I ended up getting the $50 one off ebay.

Also - have you got your batman suit ready to go??? Ive got to see that! LOL again. If ppl dont understand, see pg2 of : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=104667

Lastly - I had to change the look of my Stagea from yours, I couldnt live with myself if someone waved to me thinking it was you, so it now looks like this (with a nice fmic protruding thru the Dayz front bar): http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...ic=103899&st=40

ok first it was funny but now i am seriously concerned that you two have some wierd dress ups thing happening when i'm not around? ;):ninja::P:spank:

I fail to see the problem........................ ???? :D

Nah, I can see it now, crnr of Pultney st / Rundle St, Friday evening, Paul in his batman suit (I assume he already owns one, but you dont have to tell us that Miss_N!) with a sign on his back saying "My Wife Made Me Do It"

Hell, Id pay to see that (one way to recoup fuel costs?). Think we should have a Poll on the subject matter.

    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
