R32Dreamer
R32 GTR's have the diff known as the R220 in them which is a 1-way mechanical LSD. Hope this helps mate Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/115073-r32-gtr-diff-qs/#findComment-2129867 Share on other sites
Duncan
umm its an R200 and its 2 way mechanical. but I have no idea if/how it fits a 180 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/115073-r32-gtr-diff-qs/#findComment-2130356 Share on other sites
R32Dreamer
Sorry Duncan but an R200 is the standard GTS-t viscous diff and it is certainly NOT a 2-way... GTR diffs (R220) were only one way. cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/115073-r32-gtr-diff-qs/#findComment-2133707 Share on other sites
Fitzpatrick Speed Works
GTR diff is a r200, it has 6 bolt cv's instead of 5 like silvias and gtst, its a viscous lsd!! GTR diffs (R220) were only one way.cheers I don't know where you get your info, but Duncan is correct, R32 GTR uses R200 diff and the standard LSD centre is mechanical (ie clutch pack). I've had the one out of my GTR, plus inspected the centre and it's 2-way (most definately stock - believe me I've seen the inside of more than 1 or 2....) R32 GTSt also uses R200, but has a viscous LSD. I've never heard of such a thing as an 'R220' diff used in any Nissan, but there is an R230 type that is used in Z32 turbo. Erelyes
Seems there is some confusion here. My GTR certainly has a tight rear mech LSD, looks factory.... but are they 200 or 220? And 2way, 1way, or 1.5? There's no confusion about the diff type.....R200. No such thing as an 'R220' AFAIC. The factory GTR WS manual lists the rear diff as R200 and FAST confirms as well. Also AFAIC the factory R32 GTR LSD centre is 2 way. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/115073-r32-gtr-diff-qs/#findComment-2137681 Share on other sites
R32Dreamer
Sorry guys, I to looked at my GTR workshop manual and discovered that it is an R200, sorry. My confussion was that an R200 is also in a gts-t but i didn't realize that there was an viscous and mechanical version. thanks for the correction guys Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/115073-r32-gtr-diff-qs/#findComment-2140738 Share on other sites

Did you not read the contradicting posts at the start of the thread. That said, thanks for providing a SOURCE of info confirming it (w/s manual). Now, can anyone tell me what TYPE of mechanical diff it is - 2-way, 1-way, or 1.5-way. I know (well, I've read on here) that it is helical, but that's it. sh@un
Always thought GT-Rs had 1.5-way diffs The car would understeer like crazy in the wet with a mechanical 2-way. T04GTR
OMG WTF FLAMES LOL. im jelouse. to fit the diff/subframe. swap the diff flange from the 180sx diff.(i hpoe its a non abs 180) unbolt the subframe. bolt the new one up,happy days. you will have to use r32gtr rear suspension as the lower mounting is differant., but thats pretty much it. a very straight forward conversion (r200) 2 way mechanical lsd,,,not very tight, R220=220MM crownwheel (RD) (Z32 TT) r200=200mm crownwheel (RC) r180=180mm crownwheel (RB) r160=160mm crownwheel (RA) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/115073-r32-gtr-diff-qs/#findComment-2141542 Share on other sites
