I'm rating 1, 23 living in Victoria with an r32 gtst and currently paying $900 with Justcars for agreed value of $15k. I think its awesome value.

I started 3 years ago on rating 3 at 21 paying $1700.

But please do a search.

And dont get 3rd party, your car is only covered for $5k so it works out to be more expensive per dollar value of car for less coverage!

Hey 8oosted do they deal with under 25s with turbos? My renewal with Justcars is coming up and I'd be willing to change for the right price... I'll be 24 by the way.

Rhett

whos had luck with agreed valu and with who i have moded 32 engin ets no one i have found will insure for more than 15 k

cas has cost weel over 30 to replace any help appricaited

i just checked through my policy and its agreed value and i can buy back the wreck if its a writeoff not bad for 750 a year comprehensive

i'm 23 with a '95 gts-t. with just cars i was quoted about $950 but ended up paying $1070 cause i put the missus on there cause she is only 21. but cost really comes down to where you live. someone in the country will have a lower price than someone in the city for 2 reasons. 1- more chance of a crash in the city, 2- more chance of the car being stolen/broken into in the city.

There are a number of things that affect premium;

1. the agreed value u want, the higher it is, the higher the premium.

2. your no claims bonus or rating, this would probably have the single greatest affect on the premium.

3. age of the driver/s.

4. level of modifications.

5. garaging suburb.

all these, among other things, can affect premium.

P.S I heard just cars dont cover your vehicle if its stolen from being kept on a street over night?! is this truE?

All i can say is just cars will repair your car with second hand parts, they will not give marked or agreed value, unless they consider agreed value what they agree on not me.

Your repair quote goes online and the cheapest reparier gets the job.

I am with just cars, spent about 3-40k on shit and i think they insured it for 15 or 16, i mean honestly by the time i get the excess taken out what have i got? change compared to what ive spent anyways.

When i hit 25 i will change over to shannons, just gotta stay clean untill then hehe. Gets easier with age though

Yeah i think racv quoted me $15k or so a few years ago - basically they dont insure them.

15grand!!!! Holy crap! Mine is exactly $1726 dollars a year through JC. What makes insurance companies think they can charge people that much a year?! 15grand! Thats ridiculous! The insurance would probably be worth more than the car!

The idea is that they dont - they dont want the hassle of insuring an import to a young driver when there are plenty of 40 year olds driving VT commodores out there they can easily make their money off.

    • After @Kinkstaah debacle, I'd never want to try and get it right 😛
    • The hood lines up with the fenders. The front bar doesn't perfectly line up with the fenders where the wheel arch is. You have to 'squeeze' the front bar 'in' as it wants to naturally flare out and be longer on the sides. There's a few threads where people notice this when they only swap a GTR style bumper and front bar. Unless you have genuine OEM items - you may be better served getting conversion kits. There are GTT bumpers to fit GTR hoods. There are GTR hoods (non genuine) to fit the GTT bracketry. MAY
    • The real question is, on some of those wild roads they call highways, how many times did a farmer in an old ute from the early 2000s blaze past you over double lines?   Tassie is a wild and really cool place, and after doing a work related road trip there January of 24, I understand why Targa Tasmania is ran there, and is so tough to do well at! We had a brand new Camry Hybrid that handled quite nicely, and thankfully weren't in an old car, because cresting some of those hills in a 100kmh zone for it to suddenly be like "surprise f**kers, this is a recommended 30kmh hard right turn" wouldn't be pretty. We weren't racing the Camry around, but we weren't slouching in the bends either. But my lord those old farmers know their old clapped out utes, and those roads, as they were absolutely hammering it!   You're also super lucky to make it up to Mt Wellingtong this time of year. It's often road closed with snow/ice! Also, I hope you hit up Salamander Road in Hobart for some insanely good food (I highly recommend the dimly lit Irish pub for a Guiness Pie, or even the bangers and mash!!!)   How long did the Ferry take to get across? I want to do a road trip of Tas on my own time, but I get horrifically sea sick, and I don't want me on the Ferry, just the car 😛
    • So far so good, about 30km on it so far and nothing out of sorts yet thankfully
    • Look at @Kinkstaah's thread on the issue.
