Just purchased a Garrett GT3540 (GT35R) for my R33 GTST. pulling off the old HKS GT-RS turbo for some more power :nyaanyaa:. the turbo is rated at 700hp and i have it with a 0.82 rear housing so boost comes on reasonably early. Has anyone seen one of these on an R33 gtst?

Also motor is standard internals, only have bigger cams. Anyone else running 320+ rwkw on the standard motor? How long have you been doing this for?

I had put one of these on my r33 , great choice. I wouldn't run it on a stock internals but thats just me being safe.

Im running a 35/40 .82ar on my 33, power fc, z32 afm,38mm external gate, pump injectors, fuel rail, plenum, zorst etc. 289KW on 16 psi. Standard internals. Cant run anymore boost (std coils) The tuner said it will get over 300KW easy with splitfire coils. Sorry cant find the dyno graph.

my car has been making over 350 kw off the standard motor for about 5 months now

i have run a 10.8

and have done endless hours on the dyno

and i mean over 350 dyno passes

trying different pleniums, fuels, boost controllers, coils & different power between clutch fan and thermo fan

as long as you have a safe AFR and large flowing intercooler such as a garret core 600x300x100 it will last.If you have a lean AFR and Small intercooler 600x300x76 then it wont last as long.

with nitrous my car is making over 400 kw now

its making a total off 591 hp at the rears.Hasnt poped yet

i thought ill put these motors to the test

and they are pretty much bullet proof.

the problem with RB motors is if they detenate in top end revs or oil surge its the end of them.Always maintain good oil and Fuel

I have a 3540 with .82 exh housing on my 33 and it's on full boost at about 4500rpm. On 15psi its making 306rwkw on standard internals (apart from cams).

Can easily make a lot more, but I dont want to break the motor just yet :P Running quite conservative on A/F ratio at 11.2 to stop it leaning out anywhere.

Nah its the same car

just my car still has the standard motor in it

and the person who buys the car gets the Race motor i have built

Currently im running 18 psi in it with a 50 shot of gas and its made a total of 591 RWHP on my dyno. Inlet temps just under 40 degrees on the dyno sheet.

I have done that many things to this motor and it wont blow up lol

i am going to run 24 psi and 75 gas when i come out to see if i can run a 9 if it blows then the other motor goes in and ill run 28 psi and 100 shot of gas.I want to see if i can achieve a 9 on the standard motor.

the car is for sale so if some 1 wants it PM me and stop hijacking the post

Thanks Jason

And if you want dyno sheets of my car without nitrous

check ou t

MAX HP out of standard RB25 motor

Heaps of dickheads posting shit on the thread but bypass what they have said as they have never tried or done research in the making power out of these motors.

I thought i will give it a try and its lastest me over 5 months or so now and i dont mean grand ma driving

I drive it like i stole and and off my Videos on my site you can view it in the burnouts on limiter.

im sure croat wont mind me askin questions were good mates..

mr 331307 i have read ya thread and if ya check i actually supported you when others cried bullshit..it just 400 is gettin a bit hard to swallow on pump fuel..was askin cuz as i might try a 50 shot and see how it goes..

have u opened the engine???

what brand is your dyno? keen to see your next result lol maybe youll hit 800hp

nah havent opened the engine yet as i quoted completely standard with 69000 kms on the clock.

if you are located in NSW i am more then happy to put the car on my dyno which is a dyno dynamics Shootout chassis dyno and show you the cars RWHP.I will also show you and take you for a drive to show you its on the pump fuel.

In total im making 500 HP on 18psi and 591 with 50 shot of nos on pump fuel & full exhaust.

i find that over 18 psi you will need pump fuel as there isnt enough octane to suit hi combusition & temps in the engine.

Im pretty sure you can watch the first stages of the car on the dyno from that site.I will upload the 10 sec pass soon as well as the 550 + dyno runs.

You will find that The Intercooler,The Tune & the Plenium all make a big difference in the motors Power.I have done alot of reasearch and have found what works and what doesnt.

I made over 330rwkw using fuel on stock coils for over 6 months without an issue.

There are just some places will have you believe that you "need" to upgrade just so they can make a fast buck.

Just making sure ya werent being lead on :)

They are well overdue for replacement, but ill get a few more months outta them.

Yeah true that, they always trying to sell you something you dont need. I learnt my lesson the hard way with that.

The tuner only tuned cars, he does no workshop work, so i knew that he wasnt trying to rip me off.

Cheers anyways mate.

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
    • Ok, disregard my “rate them” comment, sorry for my unrealistic input
