Hi guys i thought i would start a new thread on the resuts from compact attack.

I was able to run a new PB in my mates little civic with a 11.41@134mph.

i didn't get to see much how did everyone else go?

Cheers

thats a awesome effort!!! could you provide some more details about this 134mph beast...eg motor type, inducted?, tyres, box etc thanks mate.

The car is a 98 model civic with the following

B16A still 1.6L

modiffied 35/40 with lager 66mm inducer, larger comp cover and the 1.06 exhaust housing

Hypertune big bore runner exhaust manifold made from stainless

Toda valve train

OS giken bottom end

stock crank

spoon diff

os clutch

motec m800

motec cdi

bfgoodrich 225/50/15

90mm intercooler

10psi=1st

15psi=2nd

21psi=3rd

21psi=4th

We will now start winding up the boost a little in 3rd and 4th.

Its was great seeing Theo run a flat 9 in his GTR.

134 eh? That's certainly stomping in the deep end of the track.

I drove over from Adelaide for the event and had a ball.

I had a moment when the plenum ruptured with a 6-inch crack along a weld, but we recovered by smearing it with epoxy, covering it with gaffa tape and then wrapping the plenum with 3 ratchet straps. It then went on to record a PB during a solo run, [email protected], and was on the limiter for the last 60m.

To make the weekend better, I then ended up i the final (bit of a Stephen Bradbury actually-but I'm not compaining) and won Compact extreme from a pro looking VW drag car.

In the end it was worth the 2800km round trip. :(

Cheers

Sean

BS, Benm, I am sure I saw you sneak in a couple of dogs during one of the breaks :sweat:

Well done to the little Civic, that is a very impressive time. Some more traction and a completely legal car will see it take the record next season.

Excellent event, can't wait for next season. Hopefully will be competing with one of my two projects :)

Hey Sean (MS-75), your car is pretty damn nice, the pics of it don't do it justice. In the flesh it's a neat hotrod, and quick too.

i agree. im disapointed i never got a close look at it in the pits. its a very deceiving car to watch race it seems to drive off so steady from the line but storms to the finish.

Thanks guys-it's been a long journey to get this far, but it's all coming together. There is still probably around 1 sec's inprovement to be had before I need to open the motor up and actually change it away from std.

I haven't done ANY work on getting it to launch yet, so even on the 10.2 it still crawled out of the hole in 1.80. In addition, it's suffering from boost induced valve float with the stock springs and 22psi (we only identified the problem 2 weeks out and so didn't have time to change thembefore the meet.) With any luck, by Jamboree It should have over 500rwkw and be launching properly.

My one regret about the meet was that due to competing I didn't get time to take in any of the other cars that were running.

Man WSID is an awesome facility

Bring on Jamboree. :)

Cheers

Sean

Just giving you an update on whats going on.

We will be hitting the track we hope next week in trying for a ten or maybe just getting the car comfortable with more boost for now.

as i have said before we will be uping the boost from 21psi in third and forth and maybe dropping it a little in second.

Just making sure eveyone knows these times arn't with our GTR, but with a 1.6L turbo civic.

We are also looking for a quote on getting a papachute fitted and getting a cage put in if anyone has anyone they know that would help.

I'll keep you up to date with how we go with power.

Also Hypertune will be making one of there Billet plenums for the B16A/B18 very shortly so , we will run one of those as well as a 76 or 85mm TB on it.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
