yeah but it is nice to explore the limits of that block, and that way you can show others that a rb30 bottom end isn't the only way to gain performance

yeah good point...must admit, i'm keeping my rb26 bottom end and eventually putting in titanium sleeves just for when the rb30 breaks (bores are already 50thou oversize and the scratches on there are atleast 40thou deep)

mine is black (three coats of paint 5 coats of clear) it is real shiney so I had to start adding polished metal. I don't have any pics of the bay, or my new additions today but soon I will :whistling:

with headwork are you doing larger valves and springs? or just a port and polish? What sorta cams are you putting in? and what sorta power output you looking at producing?

Ah, secrets :D

Power will be around 400kw atw

thanks for the heads up mud, will make sure we dont damage that in ny way

all i can say is...HAVE FUN!!!

oh btw, be prepared for one of the engine mounts to get stuck, and if it does, dont just jack it up higher, caus they split in half :whistling:

Yeah, ive got new mounts waiting for when i break one/both >_<

well ill tel ya what happened

i had a 33, managed to get water into engine via cooler pipes (didnt realis til too late) thus causing hydraulic lock. so i went and swapped it for a stocko 32 gtr, i knew it had a stuffed clutch so i sent my 33 down on a truck to newcastle and i flew down and drove the gtr home. (driving all the way from newcastle to ipswich on a stuffed clutch that u cant bring onto the slightest boost, is very very difficult!!) so weekend after got the new clutch in, managed to put it side on into a gutter bending the left rear lower control arm. weekend after that i replaced the control arm on the saturday. sat nite headed into brissy for a cruise, got to toowong round about n started to hear a 'knock knock knock', got louder and louder, so headed home, made it and weekend after that pulled the engine out and stripped her down and found what i've described above.

so thats my story, and lets hope all goes well with the new engine :whistling:

thats cheating :whistling: ok single turbo or twins?

I am trying to decide solid lifters or hydralic anyones thoughts??

id say hydraulic would be easier to work with. being composed of buckets & shims its a piece of puss to 'adjust' them to give clearences required for different cams. dont know much more but thats just my opinion

Not sure what to say on lifters to be honest, and twins >_<

decided on what twins? i was going for twin gt3037's, but alas i wont be able afford the set-up at the moment, so its GT-RS's for me :D

That sucks with the R33 >_<

And Thanks :)

Secret twins :whistling:

Well, not really a secret like the head work, just custom 1 offs, so im either going to have a really good setup, or a sloth of an R32 - its a decent gamble, if the turbos dont suit me, they can be canged without much hassle, so thats good at least

ok cool as I have the following in th engine and want to make sure everything is looked after before it gets put back togehter:

Je Pistons (20 thou oversized)

Eagle H Beam rods

NCL bearings

Isk valve springs

Ferrier valves

Heavly ported head

Mark Ashford modded crank

ARP Studs

Inlarged oil pickup

A Turbonetics 60-1 turbo

Tial external gate

PWR rad and cooler

and lots of otehr shiney bits

I want to make sure I haven't left any waek links in the engine thats all

Oil pump and Water pump N1 parts or standard?

what type of headwork you got done mud? i.e have the ports been re-profiled? and have the inlet and exhaust manifolds been match ported to the head?

camshafts? what are the duration & lift of them?

    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
