Oh yeah for sure, after the apprenticeship the money can and normal is huge. With the shortage within the skilled building trade anyone is going to make good money. Just look at what plumber’s and sparkies charge out an hour!!

I mean the money during the apprenticeship is crap, like first year is something like $220 gross?

Common sense says I live on the Sunshine Coast, should get trade qualified to fall back on, but such a small wage to start with would be a killer.

Start as an offsider..they get paid decently as in enough to get by on, like 500 a week clear then after a while ask for an apprenticeship and often they will keep you on the same wage

The thing is though, even with the skill shortage, it’s hard even getting just the apprenticeship.

A mate of mine has been looking for 3 months for a building/chippy one with no luck at all, and i'm on all the norm job sites every day

Should just move to Brisbane and be done with it, Sunshine Coast just sucks too much bum with no options.

Yeah I guess the sunny coast would be a bit more limited in its options

Every one stop talking about changing jobs I keep getting the urge to throw in my career and go get an operators ticket lol

I spent 8 years on the sunny coast and you are correct. It sucks arse from an emplyment standpoint. The f**kers expect you to work there and be happy with very little merely for the privelage of living there. Faaark that.

Only driven by two wheels...they just happen to attach to tracks ha ha

Excavators are also cool but I have never driven one of them...I used to play on our bulldozer on the farm all the time hence my love for them!

Two mates and myself through this idea around, of getting the HR? license to drive the mining trucks and what not, but it kept coming to dead end, even with the right qualifications, it seems like you only get employed if you know someone, or the jobs that are advertised require Xyears experience.

ive always wanted be a plant operator aswell, and it would be so much easier to make huge pushie jumps.

this is true...I have a mate who works in kalgoorlie...I also have acess to my own machine (Not sure if it would stand up to all day every day use) so in theory I could have two options open to me

It’s a total joke, the living expense is one of the highest along side some of the lowest paid jobs.

privilege of living is such a total load of shit, as you know it’s dead set boring!

Yeah without a doubt, your much more appealing to an employer, plus you know someone who can vouch for you in person. Damn mining industry crap, bullshit they have a shortage they just don’t hire outside of people already working there.

some times you can be lucky..especially in the more remote places...qld is harder to get into cause as far as mining goes they are pretty close to where the action is

Here is the same model as our bulldozer on the farm...my brother and I used to put mad holes in things with that back in the day ha ha...made good tracks for the XF falcon to burn around on too ha ha

True, i did a bit of a google search for jobs with not too much luck. I keep an eye on seek and just search Aus wide. Any sites off the top of your head worth looking at?

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
