Would you like to hear the story about the Jim Berry Clutch that wrote off a car???

Nah it wouldn't interest you anyway you have selective hearing

if its benno's white 32 gtr, im pretty sure the flywheel cracked, nothing to do with the clutch itself u assclown, he even said it himself

Jim Berry does good, I was surprised something Australian made could hold my 600rwhp and 10.8 runs, in saying that I personally like my OS clutches better and will continue to only use OS

thats cause his heads so far up jim berry's arse that he cant hear anything else

hey, i have an awesome idea of what a killer engine combo would be!

built RB20 by JHH with power adding sand, 200% fueling by richo @ allstar & super grippy and long lasting twin plate from NPC

I know of 2 Jim Berrys...both fairly catastrophic too

got details? i'm keen to hear

So the ridiculous clamping pressure had nothing to do with it??? Also I believe the fly wheel was recommended

A decent kit wouldn't have that problem

And then the was the clutch plate that broke in half...but look the other way fast!

Both places have proven performers...it is just fun to watch Shane put on his Jim Berry hat

big clamping pressure and single plate vs multi plates and shithouse drivability, i know which i'd want. even though there are breakages like ben's, it woulda happened with any other clutch with a std flywheel, just the luck of the draw.

comon, the plate woulda snapped after the flywheel broke u douche

i know i laugh everytime clutches are mentioned when shane is around

rofl, it's good for a laugh!

I personally found driving multi plates through the city in peak hour for work easier then the single. Go figure?

I am talking about a different car

Dave had a drive of my car and said it was one of the most livable clutches he has ever used....which lead to him ditching his Nismo tripple and getting one of these instead!

In what pray tell?

An s13 with a built rb25 with two, yes two HKS turbos.

Go read #33 zoom for specs. Fastest S13 in Asutralian and NZ and that time. The power to weight said under 10.5, sold it so who knows. Car lives in WA now.

Especially with a light pedal...it might have been livable if it had some pedal feel

i hate light pedals, u cant feel what's going on!

had an excedy 5 puk brass in both the gtst and gtr (zomg when it did run!) and the pedal in the gtst was awesome, drove nice as if u were asleep and not paying attention itd stall, but in the gtr with the vacuum assist, it was light as a feather, and i just couldnt get it to work

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
