what rims do you think would suit my car?? Where were you going to get the conversion done? I need someone to do my conversion for free, i dont like my chances. rofl.

If I had to pick, the first set. If I can pick a set not shown, something ridiculously light, something along the lines of a nice Jap racing rim, with killer neg offset. But then you’ll need to do fender pulls, which becomes a pain in the ass.

I’ve been eyeing off a set of some HUGE works mister rims with black centre's for my car, if you can picture my car back at 20mm, with rim hang. Gives me hard on’s, then again I like nasty piggie track style cars.

You want a manual 2j, I want an auto 1u.

Get some figures and get back to me :domokun:

With out a doubt a great idea, but I don’t want a N/A 2jz. They run a dizzy type set up unlike the normal coil packs on the TT’s. And the intake and manifold sides are different, not much of the TT bolt on gear will fit without work. I’m just lazy, you should no this haha

te37s or gram lights or something would be nice but way too expensive...give me other suggestions! Im not spending rediculous money on rims!

Matt, I can’t help with who can do it for “free” lol, it’s not hard to campaign a car for some form of sponsorship though.. Just do a business plan, but for a car. Your dads companies will help HEAPS, has they aren’t small, so work shops could see a benefit coming on board even if all you dad does is just put stickers on the car.

I just used the Silvia, Porsche and my R32 as “pulling power” to get interest… mainly. The R32 was easier then the Lexus, but was still do-able, the unknown worried a few people, as no one knew how the package would work.

AB Flug built a TT 2jz 6 spd Celsior years ago, which worked, ended up running 10’s….

Budget, size, style, wana do body work. Give me something to work with

budget under 2k, 18s or 19s, style (give me suggestions, youve seen pics of my car) I dont want chrome although im sure you already know this. I dont want to have to do body work to fit them under the gaurds!

my 20x10's need a referb, and one has had a minor repair, which could be re done much better. Make me an offer.

They went under my car with 285's with a slight lip roll (R32 stylez haha)

20's = too big and too expensive for tyres!!!

Shite set with tire stretch are $380ea or if you want what I was running they are $1500ea retail, but old mate at tire power said he’ll do trade for $1100ea.

my point exactly too expensive for tyres...i dont want to spend that much everytime I need to change the rears or the set. Hence 18s are acceptable and 19s are a stretch. Im tight and want to spend money on things other than tyres!

Your budge isn’t huge, which is a problem, what about some mild looking “VIP” rims? They normally work pretty well?

Some work emotion’s might be ok in 19’s, white car, bronze wheels.

IMHO I liked the look my car had when it was running big work VS KF rims, may not work on the IS200 though. Maybe photo chop?

i like the work emotion rims the best, im going for a mix of race and class...there are a million copies of those, not the same weight but still look the same.

yea theyre pretty nice....i dont have to have name brand wheels, most of them have been copied anyway. Im mainly wanting something with a style that will suit the car in 18/19s and are made wide enough to take a decent tyre..like a 245.

Unless rims are brand name, I don’t touch them now, those stupid speedy rims I have now are rubbish, they are made in china from very low-grade material, which bends easy on the awesome noosa roads we have. I’ve heard of lots of the knock off’s doing this as well. I guess if your going to run a bigger profile, its ok though..

I’ve spent more then what the rims are worth getting them un-bent and fixed too many times

    • Well, yes, every CU on the bus is available via the Consult port, but whether the scanner you are using is capable of talking to the TCU, the ABS/TCS modules, etc etc, is what is at question here. Many of them are only for engine codes. So, if you have one of those, you won't know if the ABS is having a bitch.
    • That's now. R chassis Skylines come from a time when the tolerance in the ADRs was a bit more....slack. My car, on 235/35-17, which is damn near the exact same size as the original 205/55-16, is pretty much bang on correct indicated speed across the whole legal range. That's demonstrated with constant speed run over 5km, and GPS speed. It's just the luck of the draw. My particular speedo head has to be the thing that is "calibrated" that way, because everything else (the diff ratio, the gearbox and the speedo drive**) are all same same as most other Skylines. **OK, so the speedo drive is a Navara unit to drive the R32's cable, not the electronic unit than an R33/4 would normally have with teh same gear on it. Otherwise, I applaud your OCD tendencies, and I would do the same if I needed to.
    • Not too sure, I believe the Nissan consult port does everything? Also just filled up the reservoir to full and the light is still on. The float seems to move up and down fine.
    • The speedo's can be very conservative, when my Mazda NC MX5 speedo is showing 118kph, the GPS, and a calibrated radar.... cop mate.....hits me at around 110kph +/- 1 or 2 kph, and that is on a 215/45 17, stock tyres size is 205/45 17 as well, so weirdly conservative with stock tyre size When my Commodore speedo red 116kph GPS had me at 110kph on 255/40 17, so again conservative Google says manufacturers need to set the speedo from 4 to 10% slower than actual road speed.....for safety.....and compliance  After doing some offset and clearance measurements to see what can fit the NC on 17x8 +40, without guard rolling or rubbing anything at my current ride height, I've decided that when my tyres are toast, I'm going to fit 225/45 17 and see where that gets me IRT actual speed of my speedo and GPS/radar From the online calculator I should be still be doing around 5kph under an actual 110kph when the speedo is showing 110kph My ADHD requires that when I'm doing 110kph on the speedo, that the actual road speed is actually really close to that, and not alot slower And going from 205 to 225 still keeps the car within the %/mm allowable in the NSW vehicle rules and regulations, which is nice, as long as I'm looking at the latest version that is.....LOL https://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-02/RMS-13.464-Light-vehicle-modifications-Vehicle-Standards-Information-No-6-November-2013.pdf
    • Take the value it measured as, and pick the closest range available that is above the reading on the screen.   Also, no point just testing the coils. Read what has been said again. You need to test all your wiring, everything.
