Hi Everyone,

Well after the huge success of last weeks cruise I thought hey why not organise another!

I was thinking the 28th of March , it gives everyone a fair bit more notice this time which should allow to get even more of the Skyline boys out , plus Andrew should be back from Qld then?

I also have that friday free too which makes it even more attractive hehe :P

I love the route we did last time so would be keen to do something simular again , except maybe go even deeper into the hills so it goes a bit longer.

Umm Meeting point is up for debate too after the efforts of the twat in the black/green 180sx , not really the best way to keep a low cop profile when stuff like that happens.

What do you guys think? , I am very keen to try out the new tune and see what the beast can do now :).

Rob.

Im guessing you haven't planned a route yet?

How's about up through Clarendon way ( a really good cruise route that hasn't been thrashed out yet ).

I was thinkn Clarendon, Kangarilla, Prospect Hill, Hope Forest, Back through to Willunga way, and ending up at the beach at Aldinga or somethin????? Open to idea's!

I know a cruise route that'll suit the beast down to the ground mate. Go up Pt Wakefield Rd left into AIR. Then down the strip & back along the return road x 10 :D No hassle from the cops either!

Is it just a case of swapping the diff ratio for something more cruise friendly, or is it too much stuffing around?

Cruise on the 28th sounds good :(

Yeah @ $1300 a shot i reckon i can get a new diff every week. When my work gets more active, as im off for 2 weeks atm so low funds atm, I will suprise a few of u. Got some plans on the table to make it more cruiser friendly not to mention LOTS faster, as if it aint fast enough. I reckon 4.11-1 or 3.9-1 instead of the 4.56-1 would be better with the new combo im gonna do. Got some Engine mods coming up soon that will push shit loads more power. I bet u can guess whats in the making but. Will go from a street weapon to an all round MONSTER.

Just wait and see.

Sounds like forced induction is coming!

Brad,

You're gonna' need good rubber on the back! Or lotsa weight in the boot :D Can you sqeeze bigger rubber under the rear via guard lipping/different offset etc... Mini tubs perhaps? Mind you the diff ratio change will help reduce the w/spin a tiny bit, not enough though.

Matt

Hmm this is shaping up to be pretty big I think :D.. what have I created ?! :D

Umm in ref to the southern route , it just doesnt do it for me, I have been up there about a million times as my parents live at Meadows and it just doesnt compare to the Gorge in a number of ways.. firstly not as windy and not as much "wholly s### that was close!!" action , and secondly the roads are shit, and 3rd there is a hell of alot more wildlife out at night around there due to it being farmland mainly... car vs roo or sheep or cow = not nice , nearly happen too many times.

just my 2c.

Rob.

Whatsisname r u joking? Cut up an ORIGINAL GTR , have u gone crazy ? That the biggest sin! I wish i could but i cant bear to think about it :[

Tubs is outa the question. gaurds have already been rolled. Main prob is hanbrake cables get in the way. Ill just have to do with what i got atm. Nothing wrong with a bit of wheel spin. Diff gears will help stop that a bit i hope.

    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
    • That worked out PERFECTLY! Thank you big time to JJ. He was able to swap me his stock diff. He drove all the way to me as well. Killer! Removal & install was pretty straightforward. The diff itself is HEAVY. So that’s a 2 man job.  Man does the car drive nice now! Couldn’t have worked out any better 👌
