mate , if you get those rims be sure to post pics of them on your car please.

I've got a black s2 r33, and im still trying to decide what times to get when i do get some. I'll be going 18's, and at the moment Work emotion CR Kai is leading the way....but also looking into some black centres with a polished lip, which your ones arent far off.

Will be good to see them on a black 33 to give me an idea

But Al i like cars dumped so low they scrape driving on a flat road (<--- note the sarcasm)

Hey Al maybe i'll just go all out and get a set of 24's then my car will look like your avitar LOL =D

Jokes aside I am going to get the gaurds rolled and it lowered properly, to just within legal standards that is =)

Do you think that is possible to engineer 19's on a line, would probally have to be awfully low profile tyres like 2**/10's or something

Hey Al,

did you buy chance put that stuff on your headlights thatg makes them go smoky like???

If so, ya reckon you could send me a pick please...

Ohhh yeah go the Soccerooooooooosssss =D

The law states the the complete rolling diameter (tyres included) must not exceed 20mm larger than factory. Having extremely low profile will possible scrap in, but the ride will be serverly sacrificed. I would think that getting an engineers could overcome this. Honestly it is best to ring Vicroads or DOTARS and just ask, they are not going to hunt you down, or maybe the will :D

If you are refering to my sig, the lights look smokey due to the resizing of the resolution, they are actually quite clear, and i like to keep them that way :D. If you want your h'lights to go that smokey/yellowy colour, leave it in direct sunlight, eventually they will fade over time. Not sure why you would want them that colour

Just found a pic to justify why you shouldn't get 20's. Using the same profile for my tyres as a typical 18" rim, this is how close my tyre gets to the upper controll arm. The tyre will never hit as the arm moves up/down with the wheel. But it is damn close and i wouldn't want to get closer.

Yikes.. thats a little too close for comfort!

They would touch under compression and deformation of the tyre under heavy cornering though wouldnt they? Do you hear scraping under heavy cornering at all?

Primordial: Nah it's fine. As stated the arm moves up/down with the wheel. Have never scraped that arm as there is no scuffs on the metal, have rubbed the inside gaurd liner though :P, but that was due to having 245's at the front (now 235) and a slightly lower ride.

19"s with the same profile tyres as 18"s would make your speedo read out quite a way right?
Nope..............

Has actually corrected the factory error :P

Have tested it on a dyno and on the Hwy's, when my needle is spot on 100 i am actually doing 98km/h .

Sorry Al i prob wasnt clear enough you know how sometimes you see cars with the lights blackened out but then when they turn them on they go clear like the skyline out of asm 32 ...

I was thinking that maybe, or doing some projector style head lights, but then i dont want to many defects on my car i dont mind the wheels though...

What the biggest dish anyone has got on there line??

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
