Hey,

Has anyone purchased these brand rotors? If so what was the part number of the front slotted rotors (For the R32gtst) and how much did it set you back?

Any general comments about this brand? A lot of items are half the price of DBA's and I have only heard good things about it (Also its Aussie company).

RDA909 is the base part number. From memory, I think you might add an SL for slotted. Anyway the shop you order them from should know what you are talking about if you say you want RDA909 slotted.

Should be somewhere around $170-$200 for the pair.

I was talking to a mate who has a set of slotted rotors on the front of his R32. He mentioned he had a set of DBA's or something where the slots were straight, he said when jumping on the brakes really hard at the end of Mallala straight.you could feel the slots pulsate/vibrate a tad.

He ended up getting a set of std rotors and had them slotted with curved slots, now he has nice smooth braking.

For the price of RDA's.. straight slots.. I care less.

Bit of a wank factor every time you feel the 'slots' lol. :)

I use RDA slotted on my gts25t racecar and prefer them over DBA as the slots go all the way through without the afterthought reverse slot DBA have.

Never had a problem with vibration or pulsations using RB74 pads and braided lines with a massive stopper so I expect it would be a rotor with an area of cementite transformation due to a hard braking moment and then not getting off the brakes while stopped. I feel the feedback from RE55S semis more than anything anyway.

RDA have a new option with curved slots and dimples (not drilled through) for GTR so may be available for GTSt

The current range of RDA/EBC Brakes is known as the "turbo groove" which uses curved slots and a dimple design rather than cross drilling. According to EBC using the dimple eliminates tiny hairline cracks that can form with cross drilled brakes.

Andyn,

I got myself a complete set some months ago for my R32 GTR. I have had no problem with them although i am running Project U level 900 pads now so i know they will be harder on the disc than the Bendix ultima pads iwas running but they could just not stand up to 3 track days :thanks:

I got mine from ABS and i paid 710$ for the complete set for the GTR.

I used these on my 32 with EBC Greensuff pads and was VERY impressed. Makes for an awesome street setup and works great for the occasional weekend warrior ( but no good for the hard core track junkie ). I would have stuck with them if I knew where I could get more ( I now know ). Some people complain that they wear out too fast but IMO, it wasn't that bad and the stopping power and lack of brake dust was worth the wear rate.

:P

    • I thought I'd come back and add something I JUST learned. A Toyota LandCruiser with a 1HZ, mates perfectly with a bottle of Nulon brake fluid. As in, it perfectly screws in. Great make shift funnel when you cut the bottom of it off. This may work for your Corolla.   Unfortunately, tipping a 10L drum is much harder than a 4 to 6L bottle, and they no longer include the easy pour tap which was just perfection to use previously.
    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
