Hi All,

To cut a long story short, my car has decided to continuously blow the same fuse on multiple occassions of late ( SEE HERE for a more detailed explanation), so I think I need to pay a auto-electrician a visit to try and rectify the problem.

Can anyone recommend a good, trustworthy auto-electrician, preferably in the Parramatta or Hills areas?

(I've done a quick search, but couldn't really find many recommendations).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

the closest one to parramatta that i know of is Annandale Automotive (aka grey imports). Good auto-electrician. 9519 5150, albion st annandale (just off paramatta road near stanmore maccas). tell Nathan I sent you down. wont do anything for you, but it'll make me look like a good friend for plugging his business! lol.

Whoever you go with make sure you know what they are doing. After my car was broken into and needed some work went to one guy who was clueless and did half assed work. Its not like skylines are hugely diff from normal cars but some car elecs are clueless. Wasted 700 at the first guy second guy cost me 800 but did an awesome job and went through the car completely and fixed up a lot of stuff.

Hes out Penrith way if you want his details let me know. I can also tell you who to stay away from out this way.

Thanks for the recommendations - much appreciated.

Richard,

Would you know if Grey Imports are open on Saturday's (unfortunately I don't have an easy way of getting back to work if I drop the car to him during the week). I've only heard good stuff about Nathan, just didn't realise he did auto electrical work as well - so I'd be keen to get him to have a look at it if possible.

Raz0r$harP,

I know exactly what you mean, I've also been screwed around previously which is the main reason why I'm looking for reputable recommendations. If you don't mind, could you please PM me the details of the auto electrician you used? If I can't get to Grey Imports, I should be able to organise to get the car to Penrith as my brother works out that way.

Cheers,

Brenden

nathan is open probably 3 out of 4 saturdays till midday. best to give him a ring and try and figure out a good time to drop off the car. and yes he also does pretty much all auto-electrical work.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
