im looking at purchasing either an 95ish r33 gtr vspec or 93ish r32 gtr

cant really make up my mind

spending about the same on both 30k ish , slightly less for 32

seems to be the 33v offers better value for money at the moment but im thinking the 32 would offer better long term value cause of its "classic" status

your thoughs

if the 32gtr is around the same price as the 32, its not a stocker... sus it out, and see whats done to it...

the 33vspec will outlast the 32gtr, as long as they are stockers...

the 32gtr if stock, and has a few 100 thou on the clock, will be after a rebuild very soon, so at least 10g needed there....

i have a supplier who has a couple of very clean mostly stock 32 gtrs , both 93 both around 90-100km . both around 27-28k . which is a lot but their condition is great and its from a dealer so you pay more for the warranty

on the other hand a couple of r33 vspecs privately or import for about the same

the r33s all seem to have aroudn the 100km mark also so im not expecting a huge difference in useage and reliability from them

Have You checkt out R32 GTR V-Spec II's? can get them around 25k - 28k impotred done under 100 km! Out of the R33 V-Spec or R32 GTR go with the 33 32's are old people i know who own them have problems with them alot but like ezi09s said R32 GTR for 30k must of have some fare bit of work on it.

good luck with it update us on what you buy :(

the difference is a matter of taste.

33 slightly heavier (and marginally slower, but by fractions), better brakes (brembos - same as 32 vspec)

33 looks like a fat silvia. (personal opinion, but sticking to it)

32 may hold its value better - due to 'classic' status.

32 looks better (again, personal opinion, but sticking to it)

but - 32 gtr vspec in good nick - less than 100k - for $25k ?

production volumes from nissan

Total Production 43,934 1989 -1994

GT-R 40,390

Nismo 560

Vspec 1,453

Vspec II 1,303

N1 228

if i saw a good, straight low k vspec II for less than $25k, i'd buy it.

and worry why i got it so cheap.

i got a 93 R32 Vspec and its been a really great car. Bought it 4 months ago on 90,000KM and i've done the 100K service. Its completely stock and has never given me grief. Service it and it will last for ages. I get around 430 KM for 60ltrs of petrol as well so its not awful. I love it, its got the Brembos and also the faster altessa system like the 33. I think its just like a early model 33 but better looking. Oh and there were only 1453 made so it will hold value better than the 33.

the last "cheap" 32 vspec I saw was 29k estimate import price and had 150000km on it :D

i have seen some good ones but there like 33-36k

I got a nice very clean 93 32 gtr under 100000 km . just waiting on comp test and inspection

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
